Stunning, absolutely stunning. I'm a bit late posting 'coz we had a day shopping in London and have not long been back. All afternoon and evening we've had various riffs and words running through our heads from last night.
When the curtain drew back to reveal Prince, Josh and Cora I said to the missus that I couldn't see Renato's position properly from where we were. I must then admit to being a little disapointed when I realised he wasn't there. That feeling left real quickly though. 
I can't believe what we witnessed last night and he desperately needs to release that show uncut. The version of Another Lover rocked harder than you could possibly imagine if you didn't hear it and when he then went in to Calhoun Square I knew we were in for something special. If anyone had asked me before last night what my perfect Prince show would be, I'd have told them that it would be Prince playing rock, leaning heavily on his guitar with a stripped down band. I got exactly what I could have wished for and more last night and stil can't believe it. Like others have said, it brought to mind The Undertaker but with a much nicer guitar sound and better vocal performance. On the way out I said to the missus that I don't need to go and see Prince again. Over the years I've now seen everything I could have hoped for and tonight was the pinacle of it all. If I had my dream, I would have probably picked some different tracks but on reflection it would have been no better. There was absolutely nothing to complain about from this show and I hope beyond all hopes that it gets released. I thought the funk show we got on the 18th was absolutely superb and that was my #1 Prince experience to date. I could not have expected to see it improved but last night took the 18th and didn't just kick it into touch, it kicked it into orbit. RIP  | |

Thanks for the descriptions and setlist of the aftershow. Wish I was there. I would have flipped to hear Calhoun Square, Chaos and Disorder, When Will B Paid? and Thank You for Talkin' To Me Africa, which I never heard of before.

Joshua, CC and the man, with Shelby for just one song stirring things up The quality of the sound and the pure joy written over Prince's face... the bumping bass line to "All Shook Up" and a superb set list just made it

I was surprised that Renato wasn't there, as a little earlier, while I was sat in a corner near the security doors at the side grinning like a loon at the fact that Maceo parker had just popped out to say hello to someone, I had an OMG moment when I realised the the dude walking in past Maceo with a glass of wine was Mr Neto himself! I was therefore totally expecting some keyboard action on the stage. Not that I would have swapped that 80 minutes of guitar rock for anything. I am stil in shock and feeling incredibly blessed to have been there. I guess the band maybe just have to lurk backstage at the Aftershows, in case Prince calls them on.. like he did with Shelby for the one song? Eye like pretty things, and u're just as pretty as u can b... | |

I was right at the rail, slightly to the left of the stage. Had a fantastic view being raised above the dance floor people. This position is almost essential as far as I'm concerned. Far too old now to be doing with the packed front of stage area and the missus is far too short to see from down on the dance floor if not at the very front. RIP | |

Must admit was a bit worried about getting to the front,as Im no spring chicken myself! We stood to the right of the stage just by the steps. It was ok there you don't get too squashed although I couldnt move that much! To be able to see his facial expressions that close..can`t describe it!It seemed surreal to me.I love the raw, rocky Prince so it completely blew me away.I think the Indigo is a great venue though..you seem to get a pretty good view wherever you are. | |

my life long ambition to be at the front of an aftershow was realised on this night!he was amazing!his facial expressions are fantastic and his smile is superb!!!he sang songs i never thought i would hear live....i like it there...chaos and disorder.i was stood mesmerised the whole time.i've been to 6 main shows and 6 aftershows in the hope that my 23 year old obsession will be put to rest and i can get on with a prince free life...but no..this has just added fuel to an already out of control inferno...now i want more.... | |

Very late start 2nite (again), he came on at 1.15am. But he was there from the first minute to the last, a full hour and a half. We knew he was coming because his guitar-sound-adjuster thing was brought out (the semi-circular thing that lies in front of him on the ground). And then the mic. Both right at the edge of the stage. I really feel he wants to make himself available, accessible when he plays to/with/for us. I was in the 2nd row, he was like *right there*. Unbelievable. The curtains were closed but once we caught a glimpse of him when someone brought something out. Huge screams and cheers, the crowd was great. Then the familiar guitar started - but the curtains stayed closed for several minutes. Felt like forever - he's such a tease! When the curtains finally opened he was standing there with his back to us, just with Cora and the bass player (darn, what's his name again??). And then launched into an awesome version of Anotherloverholeinyohead. The crowd went wild and afterwards he said, "thank u, good night" and made like he was walking off! But we all knew that was a joke, because both we and him and the band were all too hyped up to leave it there! He then rocked, played the guitar and sang his butt off. He played real rock'n'roll like All Shook Up (!) - real funky though - and other old rock 'n' roll numbers. Also, Alphabet Street and other of his stuff but so rock and heavy, often more rock than funk that they were really very different from the album versions. He played amazing solos, his guitar is out of this world now. I had a semi-religious experience, not kidding ya! I thought I never heard anything like it; he plays straight to my eternal soul.
Shelby came out for one song, Baby Love, as usual she was unbelievable, she rocks so bad, we all screamed like there was no tomorrow, P really appreciated it. After her number he said, "What a show, eh?". He left and came back for one encore - made my night perfect by playing something from the new album just as I wished after the main show: Guitar. Pretty faithful to the album version, but LOADS of energy. To my shame this was the only one I knew ALL the words to, so I sang my heart out and got a wonderful smile at the end. The August 28, 2007 Indigo2 aftershow was what ever Prince fan, supporter, and critic should experience. The stripped down three-member band with Prince on guitar, Josh on bass, and Cory on drums is rock and roll and Prince rocked the guitar til the end.
When Prince hit the cords to "Sexuality," yes, "Sexuality" my mouth dropped open in surprise and shock. Memories of November 19, 1982 came rushing back when I was at my first Prince concert and was beat down by the cops for trying to get on stage. After the concert, I did meet Prince backstage (illegally) and cried in his presence like a lovestruck underaged teenager blubbering, "I love you and how come you didn't play my song "Sexuality?" We both didn't understand what I was saying 25 years ago, but he did smile at me and said, "I have to go." It took 25 years for me to FINALLY hear Prince perform "Sexuality" live and it was worth it. Priceless. I HAVE LIVED!!!!! I HAVE LIVED!!!!! | |
