Why is there so much meaness?

It was my first Prince Concert ever last night. Due to a number of reasons I've never been able to go to any others.
Fell for Prince when I was about 8. Heard 'Girls and Boys' on the radio and that was that!
Got skitted in school for liking him but I didn't care, even did a talk (with music playing in the background)in school to try and convert people but no such luck!(The shame!)
I still can't believe I was there its a blur..amazing seats too.
I went totally on my own. As no-one I know likes Prince.

So I found this site before hand hoping I might make some friends and possibly meet up with other Prince fans, but many of the threads I read contained fans just being mean to each other!
Its like a competition to see who loves Prince best and to slate anyone who doesn't live entirely shrouded in purple.
So I didn't post and went alone (all the way from Liverpool) anyway luckily I was sat next to some great people and had a night I will never forget!
I'm still in shock!!!!!

Anyway I had as I said an amazing time!
If I had the money I'd love to go again.....got my memories though!

Oh and I also saw the guy from the 'towel boy post' get said towel lucky, lucky guy!

There's also allot of annoyed fans at the way the tickets/VIP/aftershows been handled for the O2 shows, lots of fans defending Prince who don't see him doing any wrong, i'm with the latter !

Glad you had a good time biggrin he is a great performer, not in his prime any more, I think 86-88 was the best time to see him when he was at his peak, no matter how annoyed I am at the ticket fiasco, I still love the music, I've always thought Prince was abit of an idiot at times the way he behaves, but I think thats comes from the isolated way he conducts his life since he became a star at like 18, must be a weird world he has lived in !

Ah-ha!
I there are nice people out there..... Hurrah!
Thank you for the replys and the kind offers.

I'm still in a purple daze....I wish I could remember it properly.
I presume there will be a dvd.
Have been looking for ways to go again would love to go on the 21st...I do have a birthday coming up so you never know!

I do understand why some fans would be annoyed about the VIP and seating etc.
I'd read quite a few of those posts and looking at the most complained about seats while I was there, I could understand.
Not much to see if you were round the back of the symbol.

After going VIP to Aerosmith in Hyde Park this year I realised its not all its cracked up to be.Which is so unfair!

I was sooooo lucky to have a great seat in the lower tier block 102 it was amazing! So grateful.

I agree with your post, shouldn't compete to be the top fan but all chat about what we like etc... So what if you liked him 2 years before someone else or know 5 more songs than the next person, we all like him so we've all got something in common smile

I was thinking the same when I was there. I couldn't believe that the people sat on the floor seats at the back of the stage might have paid over £200 to be there. I was in the upper tier and decided that I wanted to try and go again. I joined up here on the recommendation of a friend so that I could find out what the seats were like. I'm glad I did else I might have parted with alot of money for a pretty pants seat.
