Some of you Brits complain too much!

.....moan...moan...moan...

Aren't you grateful he is playing 21 nights in London...?

What would we give to have him do the same here in NY?

I had to spend over $1000.00 to see him in concert in Minneapolis because he was not coming to NY...

I can't understand the moaning and groaning either

...but we are all different rolleyes

...I attended a sensational night...and am grateful for it!

...Those who went with me enjoyed it equally so

...We danced and sang the night away...

...Embrace the moment and it will embrace you back...

True, some of the moans are a little extreme but put it into context. Forget 21 nights and imagine you go just 1 show.

After 1 hour (The first 15-20 mins Prince isnt on stage) he says "good night London" and disappears for 15 minutes before coming back, playing 2 songs and leaving again for another 10 minutes then comes back and plays 1 final song.

The whole gig is over in 2hrs and Prince has been performing for just a small slice of that.

It just lacks something ...energy, enthusiasm....I dont know.

Still a good gig but seriously lacking something from previous tours not a patch on the Musicology show that was released)..

Perhaps Brits justtell it how it is instead of glossing over the cracks....I dont know.

But Prince just seemed bored and that translated into a very short and rushed show when I saw him

What the hell are you talking about ? Prince not being on stage for the first 15/20mns ?!!!!! Are you talking about the Montreux show or the London one ?

So basically you say he is been out of stage for 45 minutes during his 2 hour show ? Sorry, but this is bullshit.

This UK fan is so pleased and grateful Prince is giving us 21 shows in one month (though you have to remember that the Purple Rain and SOTT Tours didn't touch down here so we are a bit overdue smile )

I was truly blown away by the shows I went to on 4th and 18th...they were absolutely amazing!! Bravo Prince!! biggrin

Ahh, yes! Us Brits do moan a lot... It's one of the things we are proud to do as a country. In winter it's too cold and wet. In summer it's too hot! If we get a payrise (fat chance) we don't know what to spend the money on. If we don't we moan cos we can't afford anything.
Prince is doing 21 nights... why's he not doing 22? Why doesn't he play that rare B-side remix version I downloaded off the net? I want to hear it! Why can't it be like all his previous tours rolled into one? Why, oh why, oh why?
Got 5 more gigs to go to... if he doesn't pull his finger out and entertain the entire audience I'm gonna burn all my CD's (not just the Prince ones) smash my guitars up and spend all my money in the pub... And he really should learn to play the guitar!!! Perhaps I'll give him a lesson or 2...

at last ! finally us brits are getting some recognition for the one thing we can take on any country at. the olympics are here in 2012 and moaning will be an olympic sport just for those games, and i can't wait to see that union jack flying high and the national anthem playing.it's what put the 'great' in britain ! (oh, and the words 'complain' and 'too much' do not go together, particularly in england, it's impossible to complain 'too much' !)

Here we go. A moaner and whiner about the threads they don't like.

The shows have generally received rave reviews. The nagative comments on here seem to only come from two places:

1. From people who paid a hell of a lot of money for special tickets or stay overs for aftershows, only to get very poor service and a no show.

2. Fucking whining fam sheep or casuals that feel its there duty to tell everyone else how grateful they should be and how they should accept things and take it up the arse from AEG and Prince.

If the latter stopped moaning all the time, there wouldn't be half the nagativity around here. There would be a small bunch of threads probably occupied by genuine fans who are venting their anger at getting screwed over by the VIP experience or aftershow no shows.

Yet here you are, so obsessed with wanting to tell people what they should be grateful for, that you eaven start your own thread, when you haven't even been to the UK to experience what some of those poor people went through.

You even went as far a telling people you spent $1000 traveling to MPLS because prince hadn't come to NY. Boo Hoo. Many of the people not happy about the VIP experience paid $1000 just on seats to find themselves in restrictive view. Thats before you even cost in there flights and hotels.

I haven't been effected by these issues, but I sure as hell have sympathy for these people. You simply want to moan about them.

I have a suggestion. Why don't you start a thread called "I'm grateful for whatever the Lord Prince shares with me" and then only hang out in there? No negativity, no moaning, all peace and love?

Oh no I forgot, how you you get your kicks if you could try to dictate what other people should be grateful for.

We do tell it how it is I guess, I for one have been very happy with the 4th and 18th and the 18th aftershow. Yep Prince did look a little bored on the 18th compared to the 4th but when I get home and listen to his music, I feel so lucky to have been there smile

I don't think its our intention to complain its just been 5 years since we have seen him and I guess most of us have ideals on how it would be, what he would sing etc.

I have to say I am so happy he picked London for his 21 nights and I am so happy to be a part of it and be in the position to be able to buy a random ticket to a aftershow. I have always found with Prince that I have always got way more than expected so have always been pleased.....

Some people its there first chance to see him and they have visions on how it should be and value for money etc.....

Plus its been bleeden raining all summer so we are naturally low on vitamin D...

This constant war against those who adore prince and those are just fans of his music. Just because i dont LOVE the dude and just because im grown enough to think for my own, and just because im not a fanatic - does not me i dont like Prince. But us Brits - we have high expectations and we dont take shit...From no one. We pay money, that we work hard for and we expect the best - if something isnt the best - then we will say it how it is. If i go to a gig and dont get what im expecting - be it "Prince" or not - i will say somethin about it. I dont get what you guys have such a problem with this? Prince a musician, hes a normal guy - hes not a God. Hes not some guru - he does wrong too and just because you lot are so jaded by him - does not mean we have to be.

Get an opinion man. Stop with the "Everything Prince does is brilliant" its not. Hes made crap music (here and there), hes had crap performances (here and there) and thats that! Just like ANY other normal person/artist.

Some moan for the sake of moaning.

But some of of the complaints regarding £250 for a very restricted view at the o2 are justified.

I am not moaning... it was MY CHOICE. I wanted to go and spend that money and I had an EXCELLENT WEEKEND. I did not allow anything to come in the way of my enjoyment of my Prince concert. He was totally awesome on stage!

I am just saying, since you shelled out the money, go to the event expect nothing and let him blow you away with his talent! If you complain about every little thing you are just going to be miserable. peace

Well, it is true that Brits don't do fake or kiss ass like Americans do (I've visited America 12 times, most of my friends are Yanks in case you're wondering if I don't like them!).

However, I don't think this site is remotely representative of the sheer joy, happiness and gratitude we feel towards P for choosing our city to play so many gigs in. These shows will go down in history. It's been wonderful seeing the gigs (I've done 2 with 2 more [so far] to go) and equally fantastic having him live here for a couple months. I only wish we could have given him better weather!

Afraid not - Friday 3rd Aug the band played for 15 minutes before Prince came on stage to sing Satisfied at 9.20pm, at 10:05 Prince said "Good night London" and disappeared to get redy for his first encore, the band played and left one by one, he/they came back after a break, did 2 songs, left and came back for 1 final song. The whole show from curtains up to curtains down was approx2 hrs and I was over by 11pm

Well, i don't think we all get to see 21 shows. most of us here have to travel a to get to london (from UK/rest of Europe) so to us it is only 1 or maybe two shows.

But im i right understanding that ist is ok to moan is you spend a lot of money to see prince? Don't forget we (not living in london or even the UK) also have to spend money to get there, sleep somewhere etcetera.

And was your 1.000 us$ well spend? seems like some people here don't feel like their money is well spend, so it is their goor right to complain.
