=> Sept 21 tickets - lost? <=

Hi,

A little while ago, I have purchased two concert tickets for the final night, Friday 21 Spetember 2007 (floor seating).

Unfortunately, I will not be able to fly over to London and attend the concert and I would like to make someone else happy with the tickets.

However, the website www.ticketmaster.co.uk states that tickets purchased from outside the UK - like mine - can only be retrieved at the Box Office by the card holder with the original credit card used for the purchase and a photo ID.

As I am not able to pickup the tickets myself and the O2 does not seem to accept a Letter of Authorisation permitting someone else to collect the tickets, does this mean that I have "lost" the tickets (as well as the money I paid for them)?

I am very interested to know if anyone has had the same experience or knows how to deal with this.

Many thanks in advance!

You probably have time for them to post the tickets out to you as the show is over a month away.

What seats do you have?

as I would be interested in them ( along with half the org im sure)

I once booked tixs for a overseas show with TM in the US, they were not helpful and said it's up to the actual venue box office. I called the venue box office and they allowed someone else to pick them up, but I had to give them their information. I would call TM again

Good Luck

I purchased F1 seats using the fanclub code for 10th August and 6th September. They didn't send the tickets out but told me to go to the box office to collect. I tried to collect 6th September tickets on 10th August but they said they must be collected on the night. As I wasn't too keen on the F1 seats my brother said he'd go in my place. I asked at the Box Office about collection of the tickets by another person and he told me quite clearly that I should give a letter of authorisation to my brother stating my details (name, address and email confirmation) plus his details (name, address etc), get him to take some ID and put the last four digits of my credit card on the letter. The Box Office guy told me that with this information my brother could collect the tickets and see the show without me having to attend so that is what we're going to do.

Lost my reply!

Anyway, here it is again.

Good point you make there. When I purchased these tickets on the ticketmaster website they stated that the tickets could only be collected in person. They did not offer the email ticket facility at that time though I did use it when I booked my tickets for 21st September.

I may contact Ticketmaster and see if they can email me the tickets for the 6th, otherwise I'll just stick with what the guy in the box office told me.

Hi,

Thank you all for your kind and helpful reply. I have contacted ticketmaster and this is what they responded:

"Unfortunately your tickets can only be collected at the box office. However, the O2 will allow someone else to pick the tickets up on your behalf. Should you wish for this to happen, please ensure that you provide the person going with a letter of authorisation. In the letter please state:

1) The name of the venue, the name of the event and date of the event
2) Your confirmation number
3) Your name and address
4) The name and address of the person collecting the tickets
5) The last 4 digits of the credit card
6) The area and seat details (if applicable)
7) That you authorise the person going to collect the tickets that are booked by you.

You will then need to sign the letter. The person collecting the tickets will also need to take some form of identification for themselves, such as a passport. Providing that the letter of authorisation and ID are produced upon arrival at the event, tickets will be released within the hour before the show starting."

Bye!
