Is funkier a real word? i'm not sure,just doesn't look right to me. Anyway the point i'm labouring to make is the whole thing started with a bang & then like a mushroom cloud got steadily bigger and brighter. Let me take you back to August 1st opening night, what a trip the man himself back in London and up to all his old tricks plus a few new ones for good measure. Great band, great vocals, great dancers. As always he surrounds himself with the kind of talent that can keep up. Fast forward 2 days to August 3rd another show, different from opening night but great all the same, then my first aftershow. He doesnt show but doctor John gives us 90 mins of the real stuff and we had a ball. Got back to the hotel at 6 a.m. after walking through the streets of Londaon at dawn, what a ride. Then zoom through to 10th August another awesome main show followed by an aftershow which is a top 3 contender for best I ever witnessed. Beverley Knight was smokin and hte man turned up with the whole band to do it all again.I havent got the words to say how good but suffice to say, if you werent there nothing I could say could make you feel the the joy, and if you were there you havent come down yet!
I have to wait until August 31st for my next fix but hey I waited nearly 10 years between shows so whats a few days! My only regret is I have no tickets for final night September 21st, so if you know anybody who knows anybody , drop me an org note. Finally to all the detractors wingers and complainers all I can say is there is a reason we all love him and thats because he doesnt follow the herd and you never get what you expect!
