All it is, is that nothing makes my blood boil faster than when something says anything along the lines of wishing misery on someone, or hoping someone has bad luck for the rest of their life. I think it's one of the most vile, nastiest things you can possibly say and anyone that says that kind of thing deserves to be called out on it. Maybe I went too far with it, but what if it was your mom, or your brother, or your sister, or your spouse, or your best friend that someone was saying that about and calling them names, you would react to that for sure and let it be known that you're not standing for it. Lothan - damn you've been paying me some attention. There was nothing negative about that white teacher saying the 'N' word thread. It was hilarious, I'm sorry if you don't have much of a sense of humor but trust me, that shit was funny. Me and all my friend still laugh about it occasionally and watch the videos on YouTube. Stop bitching and enjoy the shows. Fine. Then don't charge for them up front! He wants his cake and eat it. I totally agree with you he shouldn't be charging people then..It just doesn't make sense you pay £25 for a dj? don't think so your paying your money to see prince or the tickets should have been sold as aftershow party! and not just aftershow! people been ripped off and that a fact....

Karmerfarmer said: NPGoperata said: I thought that too on Saturday. You shouldn't be booing the man for teasing the crowd the way he does. He's always done that, that's part of his stage persona and his showmanship. I think the bad mouthing should stop now. Yes some people will feel dissapointed and in all honesty I can't blame all of them (especially those who have paid top whack and been given pretty crap seats) but at the end of the day it's been 12 years since I've last seen him live. The last time was the Gold tour at the G-MEX in Manchester where I got to the very front, smack bang in the middle. Nothing will ever compare to that night for me and I don't expect it too. What is amazing though is the fact that we have the opportunity to see him play 21 times at the least if we want to. To me that's solid gold. Agreed - I saw his 1st August show and thought it was off the wall especially with the 3 encores - Also I don't know about the back but i think he played a good amount of attention to all sides of the stage. I'm so glad I got Row R seats though simply because when I moved forward for the last encore and got to the part of the 'vip' seats I couldn't see Prince! so moved back to a few rows back and was awesome! As for the aftershow - I've heard mixed reviews and will depend whether on the night if I go or not - like PRince - he is an awesome artist and one of the best of our times - 21nights, all with different experiences - if you had a bad experience, go again and restore your faith...at £35 you can't go wrong but its not just £35 its flights and hotels and getting your kids watched so im sorry its just not as easy as some people seem to think!!!!!

I hear you. Dont think I'll listen to him again. Just makes me feel bitter. Put in my request to delete my org account. He talks about doing God's will, but he is selfish and a complete hypocrite. His shows bore me, and the aftershow fiasco is seriously poor. Genius? of cock ups. May he live a very long and miserable life. Fairwell all. Hope you all moan about my moaning. Fuck you. So a single bad experience at a concert suddenly means you can't enjoy his music and furthermore you feel you have the right to cuss him and call him names? You were never a fan in the first place, you piece of shit. Go ahead and delete your account, we don't want you and don't need you. After that outburst I think you need help. And if you don't delete your account you should be banned anyway. Asshole. You're full of shit, have absolutely no fucking grounds on calling him selfish, and majority of the aftershows have been excellent. As for the shows boring you, you obviously know jack shit about live performance and furthermore, music and musicianship. You'd probably say a G-Unit show was exciting. How fucking dare you hope that he lives a "miserable life"? You want to go down that route? Fine - see how far that attitude gets you. Go and choke on some cold dick, bitch. As for the aftershow and main gig seating problems - I think that the issues here lie with AEG Live and Ticketmaster. My only criticism of Prince would be the issue regarding the 3121 article about last Friday/ Saturday. That seemed a bit off. BUT, that said, the DJ playing in the Indigo has been really good, and if you are out for a good night, the only thing that can stop you doing so is yourself.
Please everyone CHILL OUT and enjoy the shows. Imagine if you went to see some other artist, like Sophie Ellis Bexter for one, or Keane, or Scissor Sisters - it would be the same show every single night - no exceptions. Compare and contrast and then say that these Prince shows are not value for money. And remember that it really is not normal to go to multiple shows as so many of us do. I hope for music's sake Prince does not take these messages to heart.
And what was with the booing? I'm really enjoying these shows and really I haven't been disappointed. Yeah he didn't show on Saturday, but I've exchanged my ticket and will be going again at the end of the week. FAB!
Guys I am a massive Prince fan but all the people who are complaining are totally justified - it proves how hurt they are. All fans love to think they have some sort of connection with their idol and its a damn painful kick in the teeth to realise he is just a man and it hurts him when people boo. We gotta make sure people at coming shows don't boo. I suffered the cancelled aftershow and I couldnt change my ticket as I live in Belfast and the only thing that has kept my spirits up is the fact that I am going back on September 13th to see him again. Now that I know its a possibility that he might not show at the aftershow - I'm prepared for it - on the night he cancelled it was such a shock - it had been posted on the web the day before he might not show but none of us were on the web - why would we be? it was the last thing we were expecting - we were on a purple high ready to get phunky. And we'll do it again. he is a genius - I love him truely and I hope all the other people who are hurting can see past it and remember the utter bliss of the main event. Its still a gaping wound for me but its healin. Share the love guys - all the man wants is appreciation and for people to sing along with him. It was amazing when everyone sand Nothing compares 2 u and he called our "that's what I was waiting for" it was so heartfelt. Listen to you albums - learn the words of Lolita and Black Sweat and sing at the top of your voice you funky purple people! Nah nah na...Hold on to your wigs!

Prince, go home, and bring ya cute little minion with ya. [Edited 8/14/07 1:46am] And you are impressively arrogant, bitter and negative whereas I keep a positive attitude. It's called Karma. Perhaps that's why I'm doing a Radio 1 Live Session next month, headlined at Glastonbury in June and just signed a big new deal with Virgin Records.....whereas you are sitting at home calling Prince a prick. So who's really dull? AWJ said: Militant
I am a Prince Fan and have been for almost twenty years what you need to understand my long haired friend is that being a fan does not mean you have to believe or agree with everything this man does! If I am wright what you are saying is if I cannot commit 100% to the man then I have no right to be on the ORG! I have an opinion and I am entitled to it and you have no right to tell me that just because I am not one of your fanatical flock I should not be on here! Tell me something what do you think Prince would respect more, A fanatical fan who no matter what he did would still bend over and take it or someone who would stand up and say sorry Prince I don't agree with that and your being a prick! When Prince rehearses for the gig he must know that the seating at the back is going to be staring at the drummers arse all night Christ he been doing it long enough to now whether it is going to work or not & when you wait patiently at an after show and you see him in the wings eying up the audience deciding whether or not he is going to play and then decides not to and goes home to bed with a hot cup of coco and leaves you standing there until four in the morning sorry but that sounds like the actions of a greedy pretentious prick to me! The man has to be pulling in at least £500,000 a show so are you telling me he is just doing it for the love of his fans! £31.21 x long residency = lots of dosh! AWJ "I am entitled to my opinion and you have no right to tell me what to do" - the standard line for someone with not much strength in his argument. Well, no shit Captain Obvious. Did I say you are not entitled to your opinion? Isn't it ironic that you claim I have no right to tell you what to do ,when a) I haven't, and b) that statement is completely pointless and fairly moronic since you are also trying to tell me what I can or in this case, can not, do. Way to invalidate a point. Go ahead and insinuate that I am a fanatical follower who agrees with everything Prince does, I'm actually not, but I don't see Prince as having done anything wrong in this situation and especially not anything that warrants so much verbal abuse. And you are the one talking about what he would respect? Do you think Prince would respect people coming on and cussing him out for no reason? Don't try and justify what these people are doing and saying because there is no justification for it. As for staring at the drummer's ass, well with an ass like Cora's I sho nuff wouldn't be complaining The gig is in the round for fucks sake, the circle where the band are is lowered and Prince and the dancers regularly go all the way round and address the audience on that side, too. As for the aftershow argument how many fucking times? He doesnt have to play there. He was never guaranteed to play at any of them. He's not a dog at people's beck and call to play at the aftershows. People are acting like they have some sense of entitlement because they payed 25 fucking quid for the afterparty. Guess what, that money is not going directly into Prince's pocket. Actually chances are it's paying for the support acts like Nikka and her band, Beverley and her band, Rashida, Dr John etc. Last Saturday it was understood that there had been problems and as such there would not be any live acts at the aftershow and hence people were offered the chance to swap their tickets for another night. No it's not ideal for people travelling far or only going to the one gig but what would you do in that situation? Prince doesn't owe you shit. Standing around till 4 in the morning? It's a club with a bar, you're supposed to dance the music being played and get a few drinks, socialize a bit. If you have no concept of that then you must be a right barrel of laughs to hang out with. Yeah he's making money from the shows....that is what we artists do. He ain't gonna do them for free is he? How the fuck does that make him greedy? Is every popular musician in the world greedy then? Most artists would charge a LOT more for a gig like this and you KNOW IT. I saw MJ in '97 and the tickets were damn near £80/90 if I recall. And he lipsynched the whole thing. He is doing it for the fans, actually for music fans in general. He doesn't have to play arena's. He could play one club night a year for some celebs and businessmen and make more from that one night than he will for this entire London show. Look at the show he did in the Hamptons. If that's all he ever did you might be justified in saying he's not doing it for the fans. High 5 dude! Luminous beings are we...not this crude matter.

That is BANG out of order and if I would say something if someone said that about anyone I care about. I'm sorry if some of you are too passive to stand up for what you believe is right and what you believe is wrong....but I personally ain't having it. Prince is a human being with emotions and feelings just like anyone and he does not deserve to be childishly insulted, called names and wished badly upon just because some idiot decided to act like a jackass because he didn't like his seat and didn't like the show. To that dude - nobody cares! Don't listen to him ever again if you don't want to, nobody is forcing you to, just like nobody forced you to go to the gig. But don't come here with that bitter hateful talk, you wanna talk about "big words" and how you'd like to meet me? Fine, and I'll say the same damn thing to your face. Prince has done nothing wrong here. People can cuss Ticketmaster, AEG, O2 staff, whatever, I could care less. But cussing the man himself when he is doing ALL of his European fans (and music fans in general) a favor by coming here and playing multiple dates at a low-cost that everybody can afford is so far over the line it's unbelievable. He didn't have to do it, but he did. Don't like it, then don't go. Feel angry at Ticketmaster for not being more clear regarding aftershows? Then phone em up in private and talk to them. Of course I wrote to Prince himself and complained profusely about it, blaming him whole heartedly for allowing alcohol to be sold at his concert. And for making me enjoy myself so much. And for allowing people with Rasberry berets in the buidling. And for allowing people in the building. And for not playing every song he's ever written. And for changing words like sexual to spiritual. And for breathing. Yarp! Hehehehe, has Prince been confused with God somewhere along the way and I missed it??!! Complaining about an aftershow where Prince/NPG or any other entertainment does not turn up like on the 11/08 is not ridiculous, its based on costing £25+fee per ticket, which is about £68,000 takings per gig for 2,500 people. I take it when Prince and his management decide to do a tour, they bring him an itinery that he agree's too, he should only agree to what he can do, so why not do 5 aftershows that he attends rather than 20 and he turns up at 5, leaving people attending the remaining 15 anonoyed and cheated. I've seen Prince gigs since 86 and I can't believe how people are defending him as if he had nothing to do with this, when he comes off stage at the O2 at 22:30, he knows there's 2500 fans who have paid £27.50 each to attend an aftershow at the Indigo, so he should be ready to go over later that night and perform for the people who paid to see him, I agree he probably can't do that everynight, but if thats the case, why did he agree to that and sell the tickets ? I don't count myself lucky to see a Prince gig, I chose to go and paid my money (VIP prices unfortunately on 1 night), so he should honour is part of the deal, its like me taking a full time job and not attending Thursdays and Fridays coz i'm doing other stuff, I don't think my boss would retain me for very long !!!

What do U reckon? good idea Consumer Direct advised me today that a number of individual complaints to Trading Standards are more powerful than one combined one which would only count as one complaint. The more complaints they receive the more likely they are to launch an investigation into a particular company. My friend and I both made complaints to Trading Standards today re TM and they said that they had already had quite a few. I bet an investigation by Trading Standards into their operations would make TM take us all more seriously!

I understand that getting a bad view ticket is very upsetting. The tickets themselves are very cheap but when you consider the transport, hotel, babysitters, it all adds up to a few hundred. But what I keep in the back of my mind is, Prince is nearly 50!! I bet if any of you ran around for two and a half hours you'd be knackard. Not only that but what you don't see is all the sound checks before the show. So, give the poor fella a break and if you can't see him. I am glad to hear you are enjoying the concerts. I am too and I do not blame P for the ticketing mess. I think the problem stems from the tickets being allocated as though the show is truly in the round with no front or back to the stage. But it was not only the beginning of the tour where VIP tickets were sold prior to seat numbers being specified. We have VIP tickets for the last night, purchased weeks ago but only allocated seats this week. They are round the back of the stage and are not as listed at the time of purchase 'the very best seats in the venue'. At this moment in time they are refusing to do anything about these tickets for the 21st September. All we want is for TM to honour their contract to provide us with seats where we can actually see the show. Is that too much to ask for?

If there were only 5 aftershows and Prince played them all, I'd be happy with that, if I got tickets, great, if not, so be it, least I hadn't wasted money paying £27.50+travel+hotel to see a DJ play some Prince songs in an outer London club. Its not halfway through for some people, I got to goto 1 night and Prince didn't bother showing or sending any alternate entertainment, so sit back and enjoy what exactly? I like Prince's music, he's a great performer, but his business decisions and the way he's treated lots of his fans leaves a bad taste in the mouth and has ruined the concerts for lots of fans. And why can't Prince play the gigs he booked, 22 is it? lets face it, he doesn't put the effort in he did on the likes of SOTT/Lovesexy tours, he played 2.5 hrs there. The fans are easily pleased (I would be), all he has to do is come on stage at 1am, sit behind the piano or guitar, jam for 30 mins with the band, doesn't even have to sing, if he did that, I wouldn't complain, the fans there wouldn't complain, but to totally ignore the fans who bought tickets and do nothing is totally out of order. I have felt quite saddened by the whole ticket fiasco as its a hundred miles from my personal experience of P at the Hammersmith Odeon on ONA tour. I'm sure many of you were there on the first night and we (NPGMC members) all had our $100 passes with the agreed "find a seat and keep it for the night" plan. Well, the Odeon had put tickets in with our passes and these tickets had seat numbers on. So you had angry people trying to get into seats that others had queued since 9am for. Prince came into the audience and I told him what was going on and HE went and spoke to securty who made an announcement over the mic. I remember thinking "Michael Jackson wouldnt care about stuff like this, Axel Rose wouldn't..." I was impressed by Princes respectful attitude towards his fans and (overall) the NPGMC members friendliness and openess. The ONA tour had a real family feel to it, which is missing from this. I've loved the perfomances I've seen and been kinda lucky with my seats but I don't like the venue or the staff there. I'm wondering what my seats on level 4 are going to be like and hope the lure of 2 free aftershow tickets will convince someone to swap.
PS if TRACEY & DEBBIE from GLASGOW read this then I'm sorry I didnt make it to the Aftershow on the 1st. You girls were great to me on the cruise and i'll always be grateful. Shaun

Clare said: frarnie said: I cant believe this thread has been going for so long...This is a Prince fan forum isn't it? Off the back of a few disapointed fans come loads of you putting ur two penneth in...It was only a few shows at the begining of the tour where the people purchasing VIP tickets did not know which seats they were sitting in... Ticketmonster soon rectified that and I feel pretty sure that they will compensate those people that want it...So why blame Prince? Do you think he's got time to organise the ticketing arrangements? I've been 3 times now and I've loved everytime...I thought about buying a VIP ticket but I had the sense to wait and see...I'm like that...I never had one ticket when the tour started and I plan to go at least twice more....Ur only sucked in if you wanna be...Tonights show was brilliant again, even better than before...I got to see the great man again, hear his mighty fine tunes and band, get down with my O2 neighbours, I even shook hands with David Ike and all for 31.21...I say hats off to the man like Prince... I still lurv ya! x
It is a bad view round the back of the stage and I too would be a bit upset even if I only paid 31.21 but I wouldn't blame Prince for it and I certainly wouldn't get into slagging matches on here coz of it...I'd focus my energy on contacting TM...I see that alot of people are selling their backview tickets online and I guess they are purchasing new ones at the front if they can...A boycotte would make them sit up and take notice...If everyone who has tickets in the blocks at the back stayed at home for 1 of the nights, would this make a point? My advice to anyone with bad seats is to play musical chairs...Look for empty seats and use them...I did...My ticket tonight block106 rowAA was to far too low down for a short arse like me so I upgraded to the disabled viewing platform...I got asked once what I was doing there and I told her I got smoked out by the smoke machine...It worked...Anyway I think he knows exactly what we say on here...It showed tonight with him playing more of the songs in the piano solo bit and he spent the most time I've ever seen round the back of the symbol...He's a star! honesty is the best policy...

guvnorx07 said: you know what? I am sick and tired of all this crap! I am a big Prince fam. So far I have missed only one of the shows at the o2, and yes there have been seating issues, and aftershow disappointments, BUT, I think we are all losing sight of the main issue here : Prince is here in London and our tickets were just £30, and there is no-one better live. No-one. I suspect some Prince fams get so wrapped up in comparisons, expectations, critiques etc that they forget to enjoy the show. Personally I have loved seeing the hits being played this way - it's such a change - I loved ONA, and my favourite tour to date was LOVESEXY - but I think that this tour is showing that Prince is simply the best when it comes to live musicianship, crowd interaction and well just plain old hitmaking. I genuinely do feel honoured to see him live every single time.
Bravo!

WELL said!! Very true. maple syrup and jam..

Its got to the point where I dont know who has said what and why?? I'm sick of seeing this thread at the top of the list everyday...For P's sake it was started by someone who was obviously having a bad day or was on a wind up, one or other...I refuse to even look at this thread anymore...Its pointless, arrogant, hostile bull and will not be a part of it any longer...Catch me on the happy threads..xx honesty is the best policy...

I take from you vicious attack that you are not the full ticket dude... perhaps a stalker in waiting... do you have dolls of Prince that you talk to and pretend he's your friend. Grow up dude. Prince is an entertainer... thats all... I don't agree with the miserable life comment but who am I eh?... seek help before you put kittens ina bag and drown them... but thanks for making me laugh It is not about getting over-excited. It is about not being passive and standing up for something that you believe is right. It is about making your feelings clear about something that is wrong. If you don't care, fine! Cool beans for you! Then why even come in here and offer your 2 cents....pointless 2 cents at that. Hardly a stalker in waiting. I don't agree with everything Prince does, I don't think every single thing he does is amazing, hell he even shares my favorite artist spot with 2 other artists.....a certain Mr. Cobain and a certain Mr. Shakur (who incidentally, I made a BBC documentary about, last year). You may have some issues of your own if you are so quick to judge another. Just remember, what goes around. I could sit here and judge you right now. But I'm not going to. I don't know you. I have seen a collection of words you have put together on a screen. I don't claim to know anything about you so if I was to pass a judgement it would hold no weight whatsoever. If you enjoy acting childishly, throwing out negative vibes and judgements, making false insinuations in a failed attempt to perhaps stir my emotions or paint a picture of my character, keep at it. I hope it spiritually fulfils you and you will be better able to sleep tonight. As for putting kittens in a bag and drowning them, I am a supporter of P.E.T.A alongside my bandmates, helped launch an entire new arm of the company by allowing them to run a competition in which viewers could win signed copies of our last release (through Sony BMG)....not to mention our de-facto band leader is in their sexiest vegetarians poll this year.....so I could never condone such cruelty to an animal. Re-phrase your metaphor and I will consider giving it a serious reponse. AndyUK said: Soooo Militant... you headlined at Glastonbury? Signed a deal with Virgin? To answer your 4 questions - Yes. Yes. Yes. No. Go ahead and tell your friends when you hear the session or see the CD...."yeah that rapper in this band loves Prince and defended him when people cussed him on a website".....somehow I think I'll still end up looking cooler in that situation.....while you might get some weird looks from your mates. Wow, who woulda guessed, both a rapper and a mouthy, onboxious wanker - what are the chances of that!? . [Edited 8/24/07 21:27pm]
