BLOCK F1 SEATS SOLD TO PRINCE FANCLUB MEMBERS

Hi everybody. I only joined last Friday following the excellent information given out on here by Prince fans following the first concert last Friday night. I couldn't bear sitting at home not knowing what was happening so thanks to everybody who so thoughtfully shared their experiences of an evening with Prince. I've been a fan for 20 years now and seen him every time he's been to London and also once in Paris at the Zenith arena which I have to say was the best Prince concert I've ever been to.

Anyway, now for the reason for this message. I had two tickets already for two separate nights on Saturday 1st September and Sunday 16th September. They were both lower tier and I was happy with going twice to see him and the tickets I had obtained through Ticketmaster on the same day they went on sale - 9 a.m. sharp!

Some weeks later I received an email from 3121.com inviting me to become a member using the same log-in details from the NPGMC and on doing so would be able to purchase more tickets for fan club members only. Although I hadn't planned to go again I couldn't pass up this offer! So I did what I was told and was directed to the Ticketmaster website. My hands shook as I obtained front row (A) in block F1 for this Friday 10th August and Thursday 6th September.

My excitement though has turned to disappointment since reading postings on here of the F1 block being the worst in the houe! Only one review I've seen on here said anything good about the F blocks and another said that they saw Prince only 3 times from that block! I phoned Ticketmaster, AEG and O2 about this as I couldn't believe that Prince's people would sell the crappiest seats to fans!

I will check the seats out for myself on the night (counting the hours til this Friday!) but if anybody out there can provide any information on these seats, particularly Row A, Block F1 I'd really appreciate it. I actually had a dream about it last night so it's really playing on my mind. AEG/O2 told me that when I get there if I am absolutely not happy with the seats I should go to customer services and they'd see what they can do but this is no assurance.

I'm just annoyed that I shelled out for two extra nights I hadn't planned on going to get "preferential" fan club seats, assuming (wrongly) that Row A would be the best I could get, only to discover now through this wonderful forum that they really aren't very good at all.

What I am trying to find out is - are block F1 seats so bad and should I try to change them?

Thank you!

I was in F3 and they were disappointing for the opening act Nikka, but great for Prince because he worked the stage and every time he turned around he addressed you or someone close to you, and your view is not eclipsed by the drumkit, which I think F1 is. F1 didn't look too great, maybe try for better seats BUT Fblock ticket holder can pretty much wander off around the stage when the show starts... wink

Hi there - thanks for the reply. My brother is there tonight and he said he'd have a look at block F1 and also see how often Prince goes round the back there. Are you sure though that you can wander off from your seats? If that is the case then it won't be so bad - I sure as hell won't be needing a seat to sit on!

I wouldn't bother. The F blocks are behind the band and having seen the first 3 shows, he didin't seem to face that way very much. I'd say 60% faced towards 106, 30% worked the sides and certainly no more than 10% of the time he stood any where near those back blocks. I may be wrong as I haven't seen the view from there myself, but it does seem ridiculous that fan club members get stuck at the back of the floor behind the bloody band! Save the nosebleed seats I'd say these blocks looked like the worst blocks in the house (at least with Upper tier you can see the stage - which is amazing by the way!).
Get them on the afternoon of the show and you'll get first 3 rows of front blocks - guarantee it!
This whole ticket thing makes me wanna barf.

Having said that, you're in row A so at least you'll be closish. Its just the
view didn't seem too great if you wanted to see the mans face!

ad new for F blockers. Tonight Prince only went to the back side of the symbol 3 times!

The whole show if virtually to the front now.

P should not have put it in the round.

Thanks for letting me know. Doesn't sound good. I shall be going straight to Customer Services when I get there on Friday. There is no way I am having these seats. They sound awful.

Could you let me know how you go on with exchanging your tickets, if you do. I have the same seats for 9th September and I too am not very happy being as they were supposed to have been "special" ones for the fan club. I went to the opening night and had seats in Block 106 they were great seats. If you can, it looks as though block 106 and 107 are both good and we did have a brilliant view. Good luck.

Hi - my brother went last night. He wasn't in F1 but had a look for me. He said that right in front of it all you can see is a 7 foot high stage and above that the band. Prince apparently went round there ONCE throughout the whole concert. From F1 you're lucky if you get to see Prince at all and you can't even see the screens from there. It's appalling that seats in these blocks were distributed to fan club members. I have sent emails to O2 and AEG but no response. I spoke on the phone to Fiona in Customer Services and she told me to go to the CS department at the O2 on Level 1 or Level 4 on the night of the concert and they'd try to help. However, if it's a sellout and there are no vacant seats on the night, we're completely stuffed.

I was in block F1 for the Wednesday 1st and Friday 3rd shows and the view was really good.Probably better than what F2 was seeing because they were directly behind the drums. At least from where i was sitting/standing you could always see Prince at the mic.Im in the normal lower tier seats this week and i cant wait so as i can fully appreciate the stage.
Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

I'm on Block F1 row A seats 5 and 6. What do you think the view will be like? I am only 5ft tall so it looks like I'll see nothing - how disappointing. I had seats for block 115 row B and replaced these for those. I also spoke to Ticketmaster yesterday they were really friendly but said that it was completely out of their control about changing tickets.

I honestly think your going to be fine. You should have a constant view of Prince should he decide to stay where the trapdoor/lift is for most of the show, and an excellent view of him when he comes round the back of the symbol.I would gladly go sit at F1 again if i had the chance but for the next couple of nights im looking forward to appreciating the stage.

I also spoke to Ticketmaster but they were absolutely not interested at all and that's why I took it to O2 and AEG. I also have F1 row A seats 5 and 6 for this Friday! And on the 6th September I have F1 row A seats 1 and 2. I suppose it depends on where the numbers start. If seat 1 starts on the left hand side of F1 next to F2 then that's not good I think. I'll see when I get there, unless anybody else out there can fill us in beforehand? Otherwise, I'll collect the ticket from the box office, go to the seat, and if I absolutely can't see anything then I'll go straight to customer services. I will let you know how I get on after Friday.

It's funny how some people have been in the F blocks and say they're a good view and yet others say they're the worst in the house!

Most of the time he was in the middle at other end of the stage but did make an effort to come round the back to see us lot. So dont worry. The seats arent perfect but it didnt spoil my night! Going back 2 more times.

It really depends on your seat number. I was in E1 and had a great view for the whole show, but a few seats along or a few rows forward, Prince would have been pretty hard to see for most of the show.

By the way, F1 is a great seat so your argument here probably isn't with Ticketmaster or AEG. Prince is doing a show in the round without really performing for the whole audience - that's the problem. That close to the stage is a great seat and Ticketmaster has done a good job on selling it to you. Since the gig is promoted as being 'in the round' by Prince, it's hardly Ticketmaster's fault if he spends most of his time singing to block 106.

I'm in seats 5 and 6 this Friday and 1 and 2 on 6th September. I don't care whose "fault" it is. I'm not looking to blame anybody. It's just that if I pay to go a live concert to see an artist, in this instance, Prince, then I'd like to actually SEE him.

I had seats in Block 106 row BB on the opening night and the view was fantastic - having said that - they were the third lot of tickets I had bought because the first two lots were either in the clouds or right at the back. Managed to sell them - at a loss - on ebay!!!

Yes you could see him (even if it was the back). There is also a big video screen directly above F block (I know thats not the same). A lot of people were out of their seats and dancing near the front of the stage and in the aisles but were being asked on a regular basis to return to their seats. I hope you enjoy the show xxx

I did the F***'d block on Saturday and as people said the view isn't great, you get a good view of the horn section and the occasional visit as others have said.

You can see a bit and the band enter and leave right behind you, you even see the Box that contains Prince being wheeled in and out.

Then I did Block 106 row A last night, O man what a difference, stage front exactly level.

I think P did go to the back more than 3 times last night, but he didn't stay there for very long, so sorry to say its great to be on the floor, but the lower tier is better.

I still have the block 110 experience to go next Tuesday.

Gotta say it's will be good to see the show from the different angles.

But from what i've read I think i've been lucky enough to go to the best two shows so far.

Not gonna go and get the sky high view, i've looked up there from down below and would have a fear of Vertigo rather than hearing letitgo
