tuesday was my first prince concert and i was blown away. i am an even bigger fan now. the set was excellent. the person i was with was not a huge fan but loved it for the sheer quality of the music. the piano was fantastic and the acoustic was too.
i am so depressed now that it is over.

i am so depressed now that it is over. Don't be depressed Cathy. Hold the memory. Close your eyes. Be still. Be calm, then replay the moment where he played "The Beautiful Ones" solo on piano... or Little Red Corvette solo on guitar... or danced behind the blonde beauty from the audience who was so lost in the moment she didn't notice Prince behind her... or when he said "I love this song!" mid-way through Purple Rain... or when we all chanted "Wooooo, funky London".... Remember the glow which bathed 23,000 people all simultaneously feeling the love. Let your soul be enriched by the memories of two hours of perfect musical moments. Peace, y'all. "get on the boat" with grupo fantasma was great!
this show was like a party. no place for "anna stesia" or a deep "when doves cry" as the one version on the nude tour.

SOPHIE ELLIS BEXTORS REVIEW OF TUESDAY 7TH AUGUST
when I go to gigs I want to hear the hits, the songs I know, so on that level I thought it was disappointing. He plays lots of songs you don't know, and even worse he does these little medleys where he sits at the piano for 20 minutes and plays a few bars of a hit before switching to another. That felt like a token gesture.
You are truly an Idiot, Bextor Who the Hell are you anyway? Best concert i've ever been to!

Only my second prince concert (the first being Manchester Apollo 2002), and what a night it was. Acoustic and Piano medleys, and some damn funky music being played in abbundance.
My favourite moment of the night was during 'the Beautiful ones' where he hits that high "tiiiiime" .....simply beautifully mind blowing. Best version ive heard him do in ages. Only wish those around could have appreciated it as much rather than slipping out for hot-dogs. Other noteable mentions were during 'Alphabet St': "gonna put her in the backseat and drive her.....to MANCHESTER" - he namechecked my home town....fuckin yey. Purple Rain went on for like 12 minutes it felt - the audience singing the yoo-hoo-hoo-hoo out of it. Very good -and glad to see hes aborted the horns on it as he was using on Musicology tour. Other highs were the white guy singing, his slither across the stage, and housequake snippets. I felt Nothing Compares 2 U would have been perfect as the final encore....Get on The Boat left people a little flat, but thats not a complaint. On the whole i thought the audience was good. The majority loved it and danced right through. Just an incredible night.
