You know what, I don't give a shit what he plays - as long as he's there and I'm there, I don't care! Of course there's stuff I'd love to hear but looking at the sets of previous shows I'm gonna be chuffed with any of them.
I'm not stopping. I haven't even taken my coat off

C'mon and dance while you, while you still have your cherry babe, cherry babe..

Of the three nights I saw, despite the similarities here and there, from various aspects of the arena and guys performance on the night, all were very different experiences. If you haven't seen the show yet - you're gonna love it, despite the average sound which did seem to get better with each night (as did the lights and visuals too).. By night 21, this show is gonna be astonishing!

I think you are totally right. I got 3 concerts booked in August and 2 in September. One of which is for the FINAL NIGHT !

The first 2-3 weeks he will be warming up his engine and getting used to the format. Come September he will be blazing and unstoppable ! I also think the playlists will evolve and get better as the weeks go by. I really dont think we have seen the best of him hes only just started folks!

Back home now. Gotta say i really really enjoyed that. We were round near the tip of the symbol, and the lighting and atmosphere was so much better. I still think the acoustics are pretty terrible, but nonetheless it was awesome.. Prince on Piano..what more can be said?!!

Thanks for all your updates! The latin group is probably Grupo Fantasmo, it's been mentioned they were going to join him. They played some in Vegas and also opened for him in Hollywood FL..

Well he finally did it - the real Prince has finally arrived in his full glory. By far the best concert yet (ok, I wasn't there on Saturday, but everyone I spoke to seemed to agree).

A better set list, stonking performances, humour in abundance, solo guitar and piano sections... he really seemed to be enjoying himself and the crowd loved it too. Even his less flamboyant outfit seemed to work better with his new attitude.

If it wasn't perfect it was as good as close enough for this stage in the tour. And it made me want to go to as much of the remainder as possible. No doubt he has more surprises in store.

I'd still like to hear more than 15 seconds of Diamonds & Pearls. I'd change the instruments for his solo sections to an acoustic guitar and proper piano (although the tour looks far too cheap to even consider the latter). Get On The Boat is no way to finish a great show. And I think it's time to ditch Black Sweat. Still, there was no Lolita. One down, one to go.

Magnificent stuff from the greatest showman on Earth.

Hello McD good to meet you at tonight's killer show. I'm still buzzing and can't wait for more. Maybe if you're lucky he'll slip 'Love Thy Will Be Done' into the set sometime during the remaining 17 nights.

Just got back in from the show tonight and oh my god, how awesome it was.

Went on Wednesday but this just blew it out of the water. On Wednesday I missed the 3rd encore, having fallen foul of the house lights trick. When I learned that he'd played a bit just him and his guitar I was mad. But not to worry, Prince just started my next show with the bit that I missed before. Only this time, according to the people I spoke to, it was with more songs, longer versions of the songs and an all round improvement. Prince and I were friends again. biggrin

After a couple of hits we were in to the next segment. Seeing this segment written down just doesn't do it justice. From Musicology to Play That Funky Music, it just felt like one big long Jam. It was definitely party time. Prince had people on stage again and they were there for ages, it must have been close to half an hour. When Play That Funky Music started, he asked one of the audience members if he knew the words and then let him sing. What a job he did too, he was great. Prince gave him some very complimentary looks and signals and even high fived the guy when he finished. Good work that man.

During this audience on stage segment, Prince tapped on girl on the shoulder and beckoned her to follow him. He led her to the pointy end of the symbol and told her to dance there. He then positioned himself behind her and followed her dance moves, taking the piss perfectly. It was really, really funny and so good to see him in such good spirits. After this moment he went up behind another woman and looked like he was about to do the same thing. But this woman was busting out some crazy moves that Prince was just not going to copy. Instead he made a signal like she was smoking a crack pipe and pulled a funny face. I've never laughed so much at a concert.

On the subject of people on stage, who was that girl he led to the non-swirly side of the symbol and then told her to, 'shake her thing for London'? She was absolutely stunning, a real knockout. She had some moves too. For a moment I nearly lost my gentlemanly demeanour! Way to go girl.

After all this excitement came the toilet break, aka What a Wonderful World lol. I respect the musicianship and it's very nice but once was enough. Anyway, after a little relief and a text to mrs gent explaining what a great show she was missing, it was back to my seat. As I get back I see that there is now a keyboard on stage and then Prince appeared and sat down. There are some songs missing from the piano set in the list above. He started with Somewhere Here on Earth and there was a bit of Diamonds and Pearls thrown in there too. This section was also awesome and it was good to hear Somewhere Here On Earth in a different version to the opening night where he sung it with the band. We also got The Beautiful Ones which if hard pressed, I'd have to declare as my all time favourite Prince track. Not full length but long enough and also with some, 'do you want him, or do you want me's', too. Not full out screaming,a little more mellow and perfectly suited to a solo piano version. Throw in Condition Of The Heart and How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore for good measure and I could go home happy. Great stuff.

We had some Black Sweat and then a bit of, 'So many hits, so little time', after which I assumed we'd get Lolita lol. However Prince had a shock for us and actually played a hit after this little comment, busting out Kiss for our listening pleasure. In the run up to the end, we had a great version of Purple Rain, during which Prince proclaimed, 'I love this song' and we all did too. There seemed to be more energy to this here than on Wednesday and it worked much better this far in to the show.

Guitar rocked on Wednesday and it rocked harder tonight, he seems to really enjoy playing that one. I see that he finished with Get On The Boat, which pleased me as I had to leg it as soon as this finished due to being on a tight schedule for the last train back. I was doubly pleased because this was another one I missed on Wednesday, now just A Love Bizarre to go and I'll be complete. The support act came back on stage for the Get On The boat finale and that worked very well. I was worried that there would be horn overload with Princes players and the 4 piece horn section from the other band but these worries were baseless.

I have nothing bad to say about this show, I loved it. If I was really forced into making any changes, I'd love to hear him do The One U Wanna C but that is simply being picky.

On the journey home I was talking to a couple about there Saturday aftershow experience. The lady entertained me with the story of how they spoke to Prince, setting the scene with details of her toilet trip first. She seemed very drunk but very friendly and if you're reading this, I was running to get my next tube, not to get away from you. Honest. lol
RIP sad
