Get the Northern Line (black) from Kings Cross/St Pancras to London Bridge and change to the Jubilee (grey) Line for North Greenwich. Only one change, so it's not bad at all. If you're going to the aftershows the clipper is running a service but not sure of times or stops. A taxi may be a better idea if there are a few of you.

Think the clipper boat runs til 4.30am, and the aftershow ends at 4.00. If U jump on that and get off near the tate modern art gallery, there should be night busses that run to or close to kings cross. If not, get a taxi when u get off the clipper.
I live in Kings cross, and am going to the saterday aftershow, if U wanna meet up let me know!.

- whats the best (and cheapest) way 2 get to the O2 and back (esp. after the afterschow) - are the tickets valid for any public transportation?? Ok *deep breath* To get there use the Northern line from Kings Cross and change at London Bridge for the Jubilee line, this should take around 40 minutes. Tubes stop running at midnight during the week and 1am at weekends. To get back I'd advise using the O2 clipper to get as far as London Bridge, then take the 43 to Angel and change to the N73 to get to Kings Cross. You can get buses from Waterloo pier, but they go via Old Street which is a confusing area to find your way around even if you're a Londoner. If you get stuck try the journey planner on TfL's website Tickets You can buy single to return tickets to make journeys, or travelcards that last for a day, week, month or year. Travelcards are bought by zones. You will need a zone 1-2 travelcard to cover both Kings Cross and North Greenwich. A travelcard allow unlimited travel on trains, tubes, buses, trams, DLR and a reduced fare on water taxis - it doesn't cover the O2 Clipper because this is a private service. Oh and a day travelcard is valid until 4:30am the following morning so no worries if you go clubbing. Alternatively you can buy an Oyster card, which allows you to put money on a credit card for travelling around. It stops charging when you reach the 'travelcard cap' for that day. It gives you around a third off your travel. If it's to much trouble then a taxi will cost around 30-40ukp (don't quote me on that!), black cabs are more expensive but safer. If you use a minicab check it has a licence to operate - a yellow circular sticker in the window with a silver diamond in the middle, always agree a price with a minicab in advance as they can be a little unscrupulous. I hope that helps, if you get stuck then org note me. I ope you enjoy our beautiful, smelly, bustling city. I'm looking out for a purple dolphin.

Hope to go by train / bus ... Are the buses have service all night long? Having the oyster card looks 2 me like the best deal? They are valid on tubes and buses? Will print out this site and hope to get around! Thx again! Looking 4ward 2 be in London again - last time is about 15 years ago. Last question: Is London City Airport far away from O2. greats from innsbruck / austria netzverWalter

netzverwalter said: THX!!!!! No worries, it's difficult being in a city you don't know, and I like being a Prince tourist board The prize for the taxi will be 30-40 pounds??? Thats really a lot of money!
It may be a little less, but they're expensive, they charge 50% extra after midnight, and more again if it's after midnight on a Saturday. Are the buses have service all night long?
night buses run all night, but not all day buses have a night route, you need to check. Transport for London have a travel helpline and that is 24 hours. Having the oyster card looks 2 me like the best deal? They are valid on tubes and buses?
Definitely - that's what everyone who lives here uses. They are valid on all forms of transport, and you an get them from tue stations - you will have to fill out a form and pay a small deposit, but it's worth it, and you get the deposit back if you return the card. Last question: Is London City Airport far away from O2.
It's not far at all - about 15 minutes on the DLR. Looking 4ward 2 be in London again - last time is about 15 years ago.
Hope you have a ball! I'm looking out for a purple dolphin.
