Travelodge London Docklands is one stop on the tube and a 5 min walk OR one stop on the tube and one stop on DLR. The most expensive it will be is £60, I managed to get a room there for £26.

I'm also staying at Travelodge, I phoned them yesterday and they said it is a 20 minute walk to the O2. Handy after the aftershows if public transport is a problem Always cry 4 love never cry 4 pain

As a reminder, the tip is to specifically ask for the 'Leisure Saver' rate when booking. This will give you a rate of around £69 versus anywhere from £120 to £180 if you just ask for the 'best available rate'. The rate is also available online, but isn't visible on the initial booking request form on the homepage, you will need to click on the 'Family Rooms' promotion box to enable this. The following link is currently active: http://www.ichotelsgroup....EXtactical Good luck in saving some £'s "Sheeeeeeeeit"

That's annoying about the HI Express - it was the first place I looked at when booking tickets, but the prices were ridiculous - like 200 quid a night for a shitty little budget hotel. Still, it's good some people managed to get better deals.

Thanks for the HI- Express tips, just booked it. When I looked on my normal hotel booking site it was £191 per night! RIP

If you're booked in elsewhere you should be able to cancel without any problem. Most places let you cancel up untill the day of arrival.RIP

Thanks guys ... changed my booking to this now!
Just noticed though that it's an estimated total because apparently: As taxes and service charges may fluctuate from the time a reservation is made until the actual stay and during the actual stay, the Total Price is an estimate. Other hotel-specific service charges may also apply. Check with hotel for details. So how much extra am I going to have to pay when I get there? I also notice that the booking is non-refundable so I can't change it now. Anyone know what the additional charges may be like? Anyone book with HI Express regularly in London? Any help would be appreciated.

The only thing likely to affect it is the currency exchange rate. If you're UK based and paid in sterling, I don't think it will be a problem. If the VAT rate changed, or something like that, then it would also change the cost. Obviously that's not going to happen though.
Basically they have to say it to cover their arses just in case. RIP

If they add much onto the price just be sure you make it up with stealing as much toiletries, towels, dressing gowns, tea and coffe and whatever else you can lay your hands on. Cheers guys ... just got a wee bit panicky there!
Crackin deal and thanks for the info! So close with continental included is brilliant. I had booked another hotel nearer London Beidge to be nearer the centre in case the aftershows were at smaller clubs but once they were announced for the Indigo I knew I had to move a bit closer ... not a big fan of London taxis! Any thoughts on a small gig on Thursday 2nd in London Town? A Possibility?

Just managed to get 2 tickets for the final night after show as they became available again, so I was well pleased. Then I tried to book the hotel and no more leisure saver rooms .
£143 for the room that night, so Prince better damn well play. RIP

Just booked another show (parents would kill me if they knew I was off to London, but they are away when it's on - so what they don't know won't hurt them!). Found a great hotel online that has really good reviews. Only a few stops on the tube (about 10-15mins) and it is litterally around the corner from the tube station. Also it is only 5 min walk from the London Bridge Pier, so good if you were going to the aftershows. From about £100 a night, depending when you go (I paid £119, which for a 4 star hotel in London, isn't that bad). Is more expensive in the week but perfect if you are going fri/sat/sun. Looks nice inside, not huge rooms but really well looked after and modern with flatscreen tvs etc in room. I'm going on my own so I don't mind how big the room is, main thing is beinh able to get back ok on my own, and being around corner from the tube this one is perfect. Here is the link if anyone is interested in looking for a hotel on a fri/sat/sun:

And the aftershows are being advertised as strictly over 18s only.
(Which you may well be - but the unhappy parents suggested maybe not...) But hopefully neither of these are serious issues, and you'll be there enjoying the show!

http://www.allinlondon.co...xtra-2.php You must have got me wrong. The tube is around the corner, but the pier where the thames clippers stops for taking people back after the aftershows is only a 5 min walk. I'm not going to the aftershows though, so that isn't really applicable for me - but would be handy for people who are.

20, but I live just over 200 miles away, so you can understand why my parents weren't keen on me going to London on my own. Been to London loads of times with mates, but I think it's because I'm gonna be on my own that they are worried. They have always been abit overprotective though - but if they only knew half of the things that they don't know! With Prince coming to London for so many nights there would be no way I'd miss going to a few.

Am I making you feel old? hehe
Only been going to gigs seriously for the past 2 years, but I have managed to see almost all of my favourite artists that are still alive (Madonna, Fugees, Christina, Kylie, Justin, Lionel, Beyonce etc), I only have a couple left that I really want to see and Prince is top of my list. I'm sure he won't dissapoint, was watching the musicology tour last night again, and if it's half as good as that it will be amazing. I think it's cool how he will be mixing up the setlist on different nights, so set list spoilers won't exist. I never really want to know the setlist but ALWAY end up finding it out anyway in the pre gig excitment. Three weeks tommorow and I will be there - so excited. Got arctic monkeys and scissor sisters before that, but all I can think about is Prince!
