For him to hit those notes on Gotta Broken Heart Again and Satisfied in his THIRD concert of the night at 3 something in the morning was phenomenal!! I can't complain about anything! And that outfit at the aftershow had me drooling!!! That was just tooooo sexy!!! It was total bad ass, sexy rock star to the 9's. I LOVED it!!! It was truly one of the best days of my life! I can't remember anything like it. Three concerts in less than 12 hours!!! All the musicians were fantastic and the shows were great. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination... | |

prince usually trundles larry out for aftershows, most folks should be used to it by now. just be glad tina wasn't there - when they brought out a stack of towels before the gig, i was scared for a minute. Oh, she was definitely there.

That's mean and untrue. I felt a lot of love going out to LG both when he passed us in the Macy's line and onstage in First Avenue. What i think ppl don't 'get' is that those trademark songs that he sings are as revolutionary as Prince's 'Uptown.' Larry's message asks people to come together and realize we are all brothers and sisters striving for the same things. Maybe Prince even encourages Larry to continue to play the same songs hoping that the message will make it thru the dense cloud that permeates society. Lots of people that still don't 'get it.' The reoccuring theme, the stark statement that we are all in this together, falls on deaf ears. Maybe Prince agrees to have Larry play those same songs, despite the naysayers, hoping that even one person will realize what they're singing about. Nothing is going to change much until EVERYDAY PEOPLE get it. So what if we have to hear them again, they are good, funky tunes with an important message. Big deal, not many complain when they hear Prince play the same songs. Larry is a legend and an excellent bass player that Prince has chosen to perform with. Find a new perspective. The 'fuzz' was there because they like to be in control and if they had their way, we would never hear Everyday People or Thank U for letting me be myself.' One female cop quipped as we leaving "what's the matter? did he play "BEAT IT?" Ignorance is bliss.   Totally concur to your point of view. Very well said. Long may the 'messages'live on. Knowing that he was going to play longer was initially a bummer, but we got SO much in such a short amount of time, that in a way, it was almost merciful that it ended when it did. And it was such a thrill to see Prince looking more wicked and funked out than he's looked in a decade, playing in the formative Prince club, playing some of his early, classic material with some of my bestest friends in the world. THAT is my idea of heaven. After all was said and done, I really couldn't ask for anything more. I'm euphoric, intoxicated, exhausted, emotional and energized all at the same time. This was one for the record books folks. | |

Just wanted to clarify, I know that there was a show at 1st Ave B4 Prince's aftershow, my point was, the doors to the aftershow were set to open at 11. therefore, THAT show HAD to have been cleared out at 11. This gives the Prince camp free reign at 1st Ave NO later than 11. The question is: "Why start setting up @ 1:30 am, when you could have started at 11pm?" My point is, he has several stages worth of equipment. Be efficient with them if you wanna do 3 shows in 12 hours within blocks of each other. These issues are predictable, if the right people are in decision making positions. EML3 I understand your frustraion but you should also realize that there was a show playing at 1st Ave that night that did not get out until probably 12 midnight. The club asked them to cancel but they refused. That threw a monkey wrench into an already failing situation. Prince had good intentions I'm sure but best laid plans don't always come to fruition. Be happy for all that we did get. We'll see him again.   and
