I am staying at the Marriott. Two blocks from the Target Center, a few from the mall. $130/night.
Appreciation is a wonderful thing: It makes what is excellent in others belong to us as well.. (Voltaire)

i suugest using hotwire.com. i was able to get 4 nights at the downtown hilton for $83 a night, only problem is that you don't know the hotel name until after you pay, however, the rating system is pretty accurate.

I recommend the Marquette. If you can't get a room there, go for the Marriot City Center.

If you're looking for a reasonably-priced hotel that's just a few blocks from the Target Center, I'd suggest the downtown Ramada. It's hardly luxury accommodations, but the room was clean, there's a restaurant/bar on site, and it's within walking distance of the light rail line that runs between the airport and downtown. Considering the price and location, I've never found a better deal in any major U.S. city.

The only serious issue IMHO is the lack of air conditioning. I was there in October, so it wasn't a problem, but it can get quite hot in MPLS during the summer. I can confirm that the windows do open, at least.

The reviews over at TripAdvisor are mixed, but I think many of the negative reports are from people whose expectations may have been unreasonably high. This isn't a Hilton, and the price reflects that.

Also, some people have suggested it's in a "dangerous" neighborhood. All I can say is that while it isn't the nicest part of downtown, I never felt unsafe there. Maybe it's because I'm used to urban life. shrug

(Obviously, this isn't an "official" prince.org endorsement. It's just my own opinion, based upon my stay there a few years ago.)

Thanks, my husband and I decided on the Graves. It is a little expensive, but it seemed like a great location by the Target center. Is it by 1st Avenue too?

Yes, you will be directly across the street from the Target Center and 1/2 block away from the Ave.
