PRINCE wowed a tiny, exclusive crowd on Saturday -- which included stars like DIDDY, HILARY SWANK and PENÉLOPE CRUZ -- as His Purpleness rocked out at the Roosevelt Hotel in Los Angeles.

"I think he's a genius," Penélope tells our KEVIN FRAZIER. "He's so talented -- such a huge inspiration for so many people."

The highly anticipated show kicked off what is to be a seven-gig stint at the trendy hotel's Blossom Room. Following the amazing show, the singer played an impromptu set with his jazz band.

The price tag matches Prince's latest album title, 3121: 70 "standing room only" tickets reportedly cost $312.10, while the remaining 130 seats will be sold as pairs in VIP packages, which includes dinner and seated show access for a whopping $3,121.

Upcoming confirmed dates thus far are June 28, 29 and 30.

The concert also featured classics like "Purple Rain," while his upcoming album, Planet Earth, arrives in stores July 24.

Meanwhile, in other Prince ventures, you can have the essence of the pop star in a bottle -- or you can buy his purple-inspired fragrance, at least!

His Purple Highness is launching a new perfume called, appropriately, 3121, which will be available at select Macy's stores on July 7, according to Women's Wear Daily.

The scent will come in an emerald-cut, diamond-shaped bottle with, appropriately enough, a purple hue. The musician, who has an affinity for the number seven, debuts his perfume on the date 7-07-07, and seven percent of that day's online sales will go to seven charities chosen by Prince and Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc., which developed and will market the 3121 scent.
