My apologies for the delay on this post. Thanks go to Carrie who kept hollering at me or I may have NEVER gotten these posted. Anyways, here we go.



Arriving downtown at 6:30 PM Thursday, we cruised quickly thru Macy's and then got a sammich. Our quick run through let us get a peek at the big Princey displays they were setting up. After the sammiches, we grabbed our stuff and headed to the line. I threw all coolness to the wind and demanded that we switch directly into fam mode. So, here we are in Macy's. Fam away.







We made it outside and staked our piece of sidewalk. As noted by others, the fams before us had already started a line list to keep everything orderly. It was quite nice as it allowed folks to socialize all night, but come morning everyone nicely and politely got back in their rightful order. We were 23rd. And we set up shop. And this was my view of the world:





The first few hours were fun if uneventful. We ran into folks we know from the PrinceWorld that we don't see often. We chatted, we giggled. I beat Carrie in Uno. She claimed I cheated, but I played by the crazy rules i know, heh. I sent a gagillion texts to Chris. All in all it was like any other nite. And the sun set. Shot of the line:





It was later that things started getting REAL fun. A local friend called me shortly after 10 to inform me that she was watching me AS WE SPOKE on the 10 O'Clock news on channel 4. We didn't even know we were in the camera shot. Most of y'all have seen THAT footage now. In fact, most of y'all saw it before we did!

We then had lotsa surprise visits by folks who weren't even staying the night in line. Princey people were out and about and knew where the party was! Well, the party was also at The Fine Line where The Truth kicked out some famtastic music, but whatevs, it was all Princey all nite in MPLS! Princey People!

Carrie was extra happy for the visitors as it saved her from having to learn how to play cribbage. Our nice nieghbor in line also kicked out a neat-oh Days of Wild boot for all to hear. He stopped the music after that to avoid any unpleasantness. Things got silly in an effort to entertain ourselves...

Carrie realized it was almost bar close, so we walked down to the closest bar to utilize the toilet one last time. And then it was time for bed.





But wait, we were NOT allowed to sleep. Look closely and you will see the fucker who was pressure cleaning the sidewalk across the street for what seemed like ETERNITY. It was soooo loud I thought I'd lose my mind.



The one and only Muse sent us many nice texts. One of which inspired the next fotos. Here we are, SLEEPING STREET TIGHT.





Eventually the power cleaning ended. I tried to sleep without much success. Carrie surprisingly slept a bit more than I did. I did kick back all wrapped up and zone out to music for 2-3 hours, with interruptions to smoke, of course. But all in all, I only slept for maybe 45 minutes. I did survive thanks to these, the cookies of the Gods:



I woke after my 45 minute nap and immediately knew I was done sleeping. I smoked to distract myself from HOW BADLY I needed a bathroom. The Radisson had stopped letting folks in and I wanted to avoid alley peeing if possible. Then I saw it, Girll66 and friend walking with COFFEE. Girl66 directed us to a different hotel that WAS letting folks in still and it was heaven. Shortly after we realized, that's LIGHT in the distance!



The news crews then showed up. All 4 stations had cameras. Reporters were in tow from both city papers. Radio was there. And the sun rose.



We got coffee (my mocha was 3.19 dude!), we used Starbucks' facilities, we giggled at the camera craziness. AS most of you know. I was BRIEFLY interviewed live on Channel 4. It was like 15 seconds. I still think I sounded gay, but thanks for the kind reviews, heh. Here's the channel 4 chick nestled in a fam nest!



The morning crept on. Macy's kept us updated on the order of events. It was SHOCKINGLY well organized. The pioneer press incident happened. The morning business people were walking the streets giving us all weird looks but mostly in a nice way.

And time passed, and WE WERE IN MACY'S!



They were rocking the Prince. Many of the sales associates had purple worked into their outfits. And a few counters even had purple frosted cookies. Oh and cameras EVERYWHERE.

We got in line at 7 PM Thursday. It was now about 10:30 AM Friday. We were fried but ecstatic. Now, how do we all wait for 7-7 for the REAL fun?

A special shout out to all the lovely freaks in line. Y'all know who you are. We had some fun. Whether it be swapping Prince stories, taking pics, watching each other's stuff, avoiding crazy famboracca dude or estimating the line count. We had a blast. It was a ridiculous thing to do. But with all the goodness in that line, I'd do it all over again if I had to.

And another special shout out to the loverly freaks who will be attending with us. I love you all and can't wait to experience this all with you (not to mention everyone else we are bound to meet on 7-7.)

And to Chris: thanks so much for your role in figuring out logistics, keeping me entertained while in line and for accepting the 800 texts I sent ya. If I forgot important details, please add them in.

I'm a high ass. I have no pics of Girll66 or Malbena, two VERY lovely ladies. PLEASE POST LADIES!
