The nearest hotel is the Holiday Inn Express - which is about a 10/15 minute walk away. Although local myself i am unable to offer a couch, bed or a piece of floor im afraid!

Yeah, like it says on that thread; there are many, many hotels in London that will enable you to get to the venue within minutes via the tube, you really don't need to be staying physically that close to the O2 Arena. And if you're worried or apprehensive about using the tube before or after, bear in mind that the trains will be packed out in the hours immediately before and after the event so no worries about isolated journeys.

Personally, I'll be staying in the West End so that I can enjoy London nightlife once the concert's over (or even rush off to any aftershow that may rear it's beautiful head).

Yeah don't waste your time staying close to the venue as then you are too far away form the fantastic nightlife that London offers. Me and the boyfriend are staying as close to SoHo as possible and therefore going to have maximum fun and will have no problem using the Tube to the gig. Get a better hotel closer to life people. Enjoy London. Have a wee holiday that you were not expecting.

From July there will be a high speed boat service across the river as soon as the O2 Arena opens, I was worried about that too!

It'll be much cheaper (and probably quicker) to take the Tube - it's one stop from Canary Wharf to North Greenwich station - which is right outside the O2. The journey will take about 2 minutes on the tube, and probably less than 10 minutes door to door.

Thats sounds much better! Do you know what line I would need to get on for that from Waterloo?

The same line - The Jubilee line (Grey on the tubemap) goes east from Waterloo to North Greenwich, which is 6 stops (1 of which is Canary Wharf), probably taking about 20 minutes or less.

The hotel I've booked is not that close to the Venue - it's called the Hoxton Hotel and is closest to the Old Street tube.
It's quite a vibrant area - lots of pubs and clubs and not THAT far from the venue. I didn't want to stay too close to the dome as there is little else there apart from the O2.
The hotel I'm staying in got great reviews on Tripadvisor and i got a fantastic rate -£59 per room per night including breakfast!
