I am really pissed off right now. I'm reading the thread for the SF show. $225 fucking dollars for good seats?!!!

This is seriously ridiculous. Where's my lifetime membership that I was supposed to have? I feel like I've been raped or violated in some way, and definitely LIED TO.

Hey Prince, don't you think you've got enough money already? You make it clear to me year after year that you DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT YOUR FANS.

May I suggest going out and actually getting raped, and then coming back and reporting to us how it compares to feeling that you didn't get your $25 worth of NPGMC membership? rolleyes

I'm sure Prince is willing to take more "donations". He obviously needs the $$ more than anyone here does.

yup and guess what. If and when the club is up and running again, I'm gonna donate another $25 bucks! biggrin

by the way, Madonna, U2, or groups like Duran Duran and the Police and others charge between $35-$40 bucks per year for their fanclub website. The Rolling Stones charge a whopping $100 and you get a presale passcode for one year. You do get a lot of goodies but from what I understand fans get presale offers which does not necessarily put them in the front rows and as I've learned from Madonna and U2 concerts its still very expensive.

At least with the NPGMC it was a one time fee of $25 and the fans were almost guaranteed front row seats at a discounted price than others would pay through ticketmaster.

Do those artists you've mentioned still have functioning websites?? I'm lucky enough to fly to Vegas and SF to see Prince. VIP. Not putting any dime in a BS website. Period. I don't care to hear about mismanaged finances from yourself.

Wow....sorry u feel Prince is a scam artist eek

I feel like I got more than I ever could have wanted since the clubs inception - 3rd row Musicology tix in LA, 7th row One Nite Alone tix in LA, first dibs on aftershow tixs, numerous music downloads/vids, etc. If I wasn't a member, I would not have had any of that!

Mismanaged finances? For my $25 investment I was let in first and got to see Prince very very close for a kickass concert. My $25 bucks paid off. I still can't get that experience out of my mind. And even though the websites I listed above are functioning, compared to what Prince charged was a steal. Their fanclubs are expensive.

I'm glad to hear you will never join the NPGMC. If and when the club is up and running again you go ahead and head on over to Ticketmaster and always pay more to sit in the back of us. wink

this thread REAKS of BAIT!

it's been months since the club closed....and suddenly she's pissed off.
I mean, sure, I'm not thrilled about it but...to say shit like I feel raped or violated? falloff
she can't be serious...
scam artist? please...let's get real.
right off the bat...with only one helpful post in reply she comes with the sheep picture... wtf?
then "he (meaning Prince) can suck a fat dick" followed shortly by "you can go fuck yourself sheepboy" made to poster....

now what the fuck is wrong with you? need to get laid, or smoke something or have a drink or what? good god woman, calm down.

If you're so fuckin' violated by big mean ol Prince then see ya! take a fuckin hike! don't let the door hit ya on the way out.
You're entitled to be pissed off about whatever the fuck but just cause you don't have folx agreeing with you don't mean you gotta call em names and tell em to go fuck them selves. geesh!
I'm sure you'll be lined up with the rest of us when the new club opens, and or the next tour goes on sale.
yeah yeah..you say you won't and you'll get a new user name but we both now....YOU WILL BE THERE!
falloff
stop tryin' to get people all worked up...I do believe it's a bannable offense here.
"not a fan" falloff yeah...ok

Whew!! Thank god for the CitiAdvantage card. Got good seats, too.

This isn't about the dinero. It's about responsibility, decisions, and how/why they're made by Prince and a topic that will come up from time to time. If his organization communicated better about the circumstances, there would be no discussion. There's sure to be variations on this theme in the future.

Get a grip. How much did you pay for that lifetime membership, huh? And how many times did you get the opportunity to purchase awesome seats for club prices before the public??

He's worth $225. If you can't pay it, tough. Stop whining. If the public is willing to pay that much for the greatest performer in our lifetime, then I have no problem with him charging that much. It's supply and demand.

He owes you NOTHING. That lifetime membership was a steal for us members. I know I got my money's worth with 5 concerts during the Musicology tour alone.

Go find another artist page to whine on and leave this one alone.

[Flame/excessively profane post snipped. --Matt]

Perhaps Prince will bring back the life time membership when he goes out and tours. The Rio shows are some deal he has with the hotel and the S.F show is something to do with the Advantage Card.

Why don't you wait until he gets his tour off the ground before you start to freak out.

This actually took place a few years ago in San Jose when the ticket scalping got out of hand. He got the word what was taking place and scrapped the show and announced 2 more shows on different dates.

The best fan club is Linkin Park's, though I believe I might be the only one in this group to have the membership. For 25 bucks a year, you get t-shirt, CD, goodies and a chance for meet & greet. I think it is a hell of a deal. I have 7 different limited edition CD's and 6 t-shirts so far. I met the guys in Atlanta and they were very nice. Plus, the first year, they sent their Reanimation DVD-Audio for free.

I thought everybody knew what they were getting with the "lifetime membership" of NPGMC. Especially after some people really pissed Prince off by trying to sue him for the "4CD" year...

They SHOULD have known. It's so STUPID to think it means a person's lifetime rather than the club's. How exactly would they keep track of when you die so your membership could be closed out? Then, for us 'oldsters', we'd deserve a discount, since our membership wouldn't run as long as the 'youngsters'. dead

That's what the line in the agreement meant when it said the club could be changed or closed at any time...
