Scoop on Transportation AFTER the show

For all of you who have not been to 3121, I just wanted to let you know that it can be quite a challenge to get a cab after the regular show which ends around 2:30-3:00 am but ESPECIALLY after the aftershows ending between 5:30-6:00 am. When I went two weeks, ago my friends didn't attend the aftershow with me and it took them 2 HOURS to get a cab at the cab stand. Later, when I left the after show at 5:45 am it took me an hour to get a cab.

This made for a VERY long night since we'd left our hotel for the Rio around 8:00 pm the night before. So, pack your patience and be prepared to wait, rent your own car, OR stay at the Rio. I'm choosing to stay at the Rio to avoid all the hoopla and minimize any extra time waiting. Plus, I figure I'll save some money in cab rides to and from the Rio. Just a heads up. . . Have a great time! biggrin

I guess we were just lucky both times. The first night the 30th December we got a cab easily outside the Rio main entrance.

Then on NYE we went out one of the side entrances and flagged a cab down within minutes as several were driving around the complex.

Weird. We went last weekend and both nights walked out straight into a taxi. A little tip: there are free shuttle buses to Bally's, Caesar's Palace and some other hotel I've forgotten. They leave from the entrance nearest the big buffet restaurant and they run until 4am.

nod That's the weekend I'm going and I agree, trying to find a cab at 6 am is not cute. After my first night of waiting an hour, the second night an employee of 3121 was nice enough to give me and my friends a ride at 7 am, and on Sunday I met a fellow orger who gave me a ride (thanks again!).

So, I'm just saying, it can be kind of sketchy finding a ride that late or early in the morning.

Last Saturday we went by the taxi stand and said OMG... What a line. Then went around the corner, got on a FREE bus and was back at Harrah's in 10 minutes. From Harrah's you can get on the Monorail or get a cab right there by the bus drop. We were at the IP so it was convenient.

After the aftershow on February 9, we walked outside and got a cab right away. I guess it depends on the night...
We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I agree. We had no trouble at all the weekend of 1/19-20. It is a bit of a hike though to the cab stand at the Rio from where the restaurant is.

When I attended, I left after 5:30, but had to walk a little ways to the cab line that isnot right outside the front of the hotel. Only took a few minutes to get a cab each time, but would have been easier for people if the cabs picked customers up in the front of the hotel.

I was there for the Jan 20 show and I would definitely call the cab line to be long. We even delayed for a little while inside the Rio, and it still took a good 15-20 minutes to get a cab.
