I also think some people are being a bit too harsh. Graycap said a tour would be announced at the end of July. It is only the *3rd* of August. Just a few days out? That's pretty impressive, and is unlikely to be by chance or coincidence. When there's 365 to choose from, just being 3 out... think about it.

As for the fact that it's only a Greek show and not a tour... well, we don't know anything officially, do we? Could be one show, could be a tour.

Let's just be happy with the news that seems to have leaked, and enjoy the buzz in expecting/hoping for more.

Nothing has been announced yet - so far we have reports from greek entertainment sites claiming a gig in Athens on September 25th - that isn't an announcement. As far as we know it could still all be rumour, or even if true could be cancelled.
Either way, no tour started or was announced at the end of July.

I think everyone got it wrong....

If GREASE is the word...and he's coming out on the 25th in GREEK style....

yes, I believe what jseven has to say as he does have a good reputation, but even he had a beginning to that "reputation".

Graycap said a tour would be announced at the end of july. this was two months ago when he stated that. i mean come on, so an announcement did not come on the very last day of july? so what. even if it comes out in the next few days, its close enough for me. maybe prince had planned to announce it at the "end of july" and it just didn't happen that way for one reason or another. jseven's comment about "this isnt the first stop" with regard to greece clearly indicates that a tour, and not just a one off show, is in the works. why not wait and see if any of the other information provided by graycap comes true before you start bashing so much?

I can also remember back in the day when J7 was treated the same way when he'd 'announce' stuff and send out the newsletter.

Hell, we all KNOW that Prince can have plans that change with the wind, either by his choice or other circumstances. Who knows what the world situation will be tomorrow, let alone in September. Personally, I'd rather he didn't go overseas, but only for security reasons, not trying to take him from you folks over there.

True, everyone's rep has to be built up, but unfortunately so far Gray's isn't off to a good start. Not just with the tour announcement but with other things as well...

I'm pretty well skeptical whenever someone comes on here claiming to have "insider info", or that they heard it directly from Prince. There have been, literally, dozens of folks doing this since as far back as I can remember. That doesn't mean I automatically call "bullsh!t" on them either. I usually wait to see if their info pans out. In Greycap's case, I basically told him that I hoped he was telling the truth, and asked for clarification. Not only did he not clarify, he responded with cryptic gobbledygook that could be interpreted several different ways. Now, we are past the time period that he stated an announcement would be made, and all we have is a rumour from a more reliable source that he will play Greece. Where is the tour announcement? Where are the remasters?

I'd be happy to eat crow if Greycap turns out to be right about the remasters AND the tour (if he only gets the tour thing right, even though it is past when he said it would happen, it was just dumb luck). So far, he hasn't turned out to be a reliable source like Tangerine17, JSeven or BorisFishPaw.

Graycap, it's real simple: I truly hope you're right and I'm wrong. I'd personally love to get a heaping helping of crow on my plate, and see those remasters coming out. If this happens, I'll be defending you to all the other Orgers when you come out with a piece of info. As it is, your info hasn't panned out. You can't expect people to not be sore about that.

The thread was an old thread in which folks where talking about a tour, I think it was a time when things were a little slow around here (not sure). Anyway back then he said end July/ beginning August, as again just recently he said it. Anyway regardless of who said what when and how clearly, the tour should be great and I look forward to the music.
