Recieved the message a half hour ago and haven't come down yet. This makes up for not being able to go to the Celebration this year. Those who have seen the show and have any advice or comments to share, please do. smile

He needs to do a regular concert in or close to Minneapolis!

I guess now he's playing outside the US, this makes the ONA tour a "world tour", huh? wink

I have two questions I desparately need answered!

1) What is the maximum number of tickets that I can buy with a membership to the NPG Music Club? I want to bring a few friends...

2) What is the max. number of people that have been allowed into the soundchecks?

Thanks in advance!

The max tickets R 2 per NPGMC member. There has never been a limit on soundchecks...As many fams that purchase is how many get in. The Afterparty? Now that's another story. There are some restrictions that are naturally placed on the afterparty because of size of the club, etc. But if you get in, you will be in the front as fam to the NPGMC.

The maximum number of tickets that you will be able to buy is 2 so I guess you won't be bringing a few friends.

You are only allowed to bring 1 person into the soundcheck also. Don't worry about not getting into the soundcheck I have not heard of it happening anywhere.

Tickets have historically gone on sale 1- 1 1/2 weeks prior to the show's date. The NPGMC emails you as to when that time is.

Devilman are you from Toronto?? I am from TO and I hope this info is accurate. I have not seen Prince since 1994 and I definitely need a fix of him soon. If you are from TO, could you keep me posted on any info you hear regarding when tickets go on sale?? Thanks a lot.

Ok Canada listen up, I need some info here. Anyone from Van who purchased their tickets please share with us whether NPGMC is charging us in US currency rather than CDN dollars. I will seriously have to consider buying tickets through NPGMC if this is the case. Big exchange difference. I emailed NPGMC about 30 min ago...let's see if they reply. I'll post when I know.

NPGMC relplied within 15 minutes. Anyway, tickets are in US currency through the retail section.(there's a little note on that now) NPGMC said they had a bank convert prices from CAN to USD. Think it will cost us a little more than our neighbours to the south...but worth it I'm sure. smile

Yes Kisscamille, I am from the T-dot. If I hear anything else about tickets, I will let you know. I saw Prince at the ONA tour in Buffalo back in March. Now the man is coming here and I get to check that one out too.

Those of us in the Northeast are getting very lucky indeed. Buffalo, Cleveland, NYC, and now Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal.

Apparently a show in Ottawa has been added the night after Toronto. Toronto is on a Saturday...so likely no aftershow that Saturday huh? That would have been very convenient.

Well, TO and Ottawa are so close (Montreal as well) Why wouldn't Prince play an afterparty in TO. Afterall, we know he has a nice big warm house to sleep in that night. It would be a good opportunity to welcome Prince into the community.

Well is about time he came here. The last time I saw him was in '97 and getting tickets for that was a real bith.
I'm from the T-dot too and hopefully I will be able to get/purchase tickets ($100 to $150 pp)

What is the best way to get tickets, inline, phone, in person at ticketmaster or what? What does one have to do the attend the soundcheck? After party? Any info would be most apprecitated.

Times like this I wished that I was a memeber of the NPG....

Ronnie, best way to get tix for the Massey Hall gig is to prep your account (My Account) with Ticketmaster.ca. As soon as the clock strikes 11:00A BUY. It is most definitely faster than setting up 4 phones for redial.

Thanks Red, but what if my server is down at that particular time and day? In '97 there were a lot of poeple who had a hard time buying online tickets. I will really be f---- if that happened. How about in person?

.... I have a couple of days to assess the situation.

Not necessarilly. In Dallas we got an email the day of the show saying that the soundcheck was cancelled. Then when we got there they let us in early due to inclement weather and we caught the VERY end of the soundcheck (Could just hear him finishing up Paisley Park, dammit!).

Prince hung around and chatted a little bit, but not too much. Anyway, we had a real cool aftershow so the abbreviated soundcheck didn't really matter. Just know that the soundcheck ain't guaranteed to happen.

.... Additionally Massey Hall is a small joint. How are we ALL supposed to get tickets? In '97 he played at Phoenix (standing room only) for about 2,000 and I barely made it!

Are there less and less Prince fans nowadays that he plays the small theaters?

If the concert is that important to you, and you're not a member of NPGMC, consider joining and buying tickets during the presale. You'll get your tickets earlier and get seated before the general public. Otherwise, take your chances dude.

Dayum Ronnie, who's your server?

I'd say your experience by phone would be a painfully long wait. Also, my experience is that the better tix are handed out to the on-line buyers, simply because they can process faster than telephone. Do they still have in-person ticketmaster outlets???? Have a friend with a reliable server that could purchase on-line 4 U?

I may not go. $150 is highway robbery and if I want to take someone with me (and I'm absolutely certain none of my friends will drop $150 to see him) would cost me $300+++. It will be a spur of the moment decision Monday morning.

Tell U what Ronnie. U buy my ticket and I'll playce your order wink

Wow.

I'm in Winnipeg.

I wonder if the mental hospital in Selkirk is staffed well enough to handle this tremendous event?

Better question, how is the Humane Society? biggrin

1 quick question.....can U join NPGMC shortly before the pre-sale tickets and still get the pre-sale and all the concert goodies? I thought the club was trying 2 restrict last minute members.
