Vegas venue

I'm not personally a Prince fan, but a friend of mine with no Internet access is, and she's dying to get to the Vegas show. I see that it's on May 4th, but does anyone know what the venue is?

Thanks in advance.

the vegas concert date has not confirmed by his website yet. i also noticed around that the date is supposed to be 5/4, but who knows. in vegas, there are really 4 choices:hard rock hotel 'the joint', mgm hotel, with studio 54; mandalay bay; and unlv arena

morgan is right - there are not many places to have a "mid-size" concert here in Vegas, and there are even less places you can book at the "last minute." i fear that there will not be a Vegas show, but you never know.....i haven't seen any confirmed dates yet on any local venue websites, or heard any promotions for a prince show on the radio.

I think you can pretty much rule out the Mandalay bay Hotel. The De La Hoya vs. Vargas fight is going on that night at the events center, and Face 2 Face is playing the smaller House of Blues. Studio 54 (MGM) and the Joint (Hard Rock) are really the only feasible locales.

I think the Vegas show, if it happens, will be in late April, not in May as originally planned.
It's now probable that after he does the two L.A. shows, he either hits Vegas immediately after, or moves on to Europe.

I'm sure he doesn't want to start a european tour too late into May, as he has to be back stateside for the Celebration in late June.

Shit, I'm just fishin 4 logic, but we all know that what Prince does is ANYTHING but logical, so who knows.
If it breaks when it bends, you better not put it in.

I want him to play vegas, too!
And about Vegas, I think there's probably not THAT many NPGC members who reside there, but A TON who would want to fly in for the show and make a weekend of it. Thing is, it would be nice to have at least 2 weeks notice to make arrangements...hint, hint NPGMC....
I would be comin' from MPLS.....

I'll be driving in for the Vegas show (if there is one) and you're right lemoncrush, 2-weeks notice would really help.

As it is, I may have to go May 4th show or no-show. When I first heard of the show I put the wheels in motion and once they're in motion there's no going back... smile

What about the Aladin Theater? Prince played there in 2000 and said they had the best sound system in the world. Sounds like a good venue to me.

I also hope we get 2 weeks notice...i just found out that I can take three people (including myself) to Vegas for free with my frequent flyer miles!

I am betting on the Joint..no one is booked in there for 5.04 could be the venue is on hold for you know who.
Aladdin is not available.

YEAH - I saw him at the Aladdin last time on the Hit N Run - so that place is perfect then afterwards, the AfterParty was at Studio 54 & that was off the hook too!!!
I've just experienced the Friday night, LA show & I can NOT wait for the Vegas, I have to go to that one too!
If anyone gets the confirmation on that soon, please .org me or email me - Thanks!!!
