General Admission or Ticketmaster? How have things been going with the General Admission?
Do you guys think that this is the way all Prince shows should be handled from now on, or do you think Ticketmaster should be given another chance to see if they can properly handle the presales for club members? The advantage with Ticketmaster is that everyone did get a numbered seat, so there was no need to stand in line for hours. The advantage with NPGMC handling the sales is that club members are guaranteed to get the first few rows. | |

The Aerosmith fanclub that my brother belong to just puts the pairs of tickets into envelopes and then writes names on them after shuffling them around. No Tickemaster and no waiting in line. Open your envelope and be suprised !!! And still have the first few rows !!! | |

Yea i think that's what they should do. Use NPG but make sure no obstructed views and then just randomly pick the tickets and label the envelopes with each members name on it. That would be great. ______________________________________________

I personally didn't mind standing in line in New York. It's a great opportunity to meet other orgers and prince fans. Yeah, it sucked that it rained but we came prepared with umbrellas. Plus, your guaranteed a good seat even if you come when the show starts. I guess the only problem is the peps 'doing the work' who wait in line for long hours who can't guarantee the first couple rows
I wouldn't mind if any aftershow fees were waved for our guests though. Most of our guests I would guess are not club members. Is this the specific club policy or Prince's (or both) to charge a fee??? | |

Lottery vs. First-come-first-served. That's the choice, isn't it. I'm sure if Prince had chosen a lottery, then the other camp would be up in arms.

As much bashing as Ticketmaster gets (and as much as they deserve), they still provide a service. They assure me that when I go into a concert, I am not going to be trampled by a bunch of freaks when I enter a theater heading to my seat. They assure me that my seat will not be taken when I want to get a $4 cookie from the concession stand. As much as many of us may like Prince or get excited that he's coming to our area, we don't all have hours to stand in line hoping for a good seat. We don't need that with a number and row on our ticket.
There's got to be a better way. | |

I really didn't mind the waiting as much as the not knowing when or if I would get my seat and if I could keep it once I did get it. Everybody turned out to be really nice in line and in my section, but I'm getting too old for the wait for 3 hours in line thing before a show. I would have loved to enjoy a nice dinner at Lincoln Center with my date beforehand and not worry all day about where I would be sitting. And I must say again, the first 15 rows do have some obstructed views in certain venues. If I had shown up on time and not early I would have missed most of soundcheck cause I would have been in line getting my pass (as it was I only missed alittle bit.) and I would have been stuck on the sides behind speakers. That would have really sucked. 3 hrs in the rain was definitely better than that. ______________________________________________

There's got to be a better way. I haven't actually experienced the general admission thing but I agree with IrishEcho that it sounds a kind of spooky. I prefer to be able to go to a concert when I feel like it (not hours before) with a ticket in hand that has a row and seat number on it. Besides, going the Ticketmaster route, when I return to my seat after going to the bathroom at the concert, I don't have to mess up my outfit by having to body slam someone WWF style out of my seat. It's much more civilized to be able to just flash em my stub.  I have to admit that I really don't like the idea of paying $125 and then waiting in line for 5-6 hours to make sure of getting a good seat. If it's cold or raining out, then you're going to be damp and clammy by the time you get inside. If it's hot outside, then you will have been hot and sweating for 5 hours before the show even starts. What is the point of wearing a nice outfit under those circumstances? I'm not going to wear a nice outfit and then sit on the sidewalk for 5 hours. But the main concern now is that buying the tickets through the club does not guarantee a seat. I saw posts from Houston about NPGMC members who didn't get seats. | |

I would much prefer to have an assigned seat.
A ticket that actually says ... this is Aannastesia's seat.... so back the fuck off! Should I decide to go to the powder room or buy a bottle of water... I don't like the idea of coming back to my seat and having some ignorant slob thinking that my momentary absence was their big chance. 
I don't see why the NPGMC can't just put seat numbers on our tickets!! It is so simple.... We all make a scan of our Drivers License.... email it to the club and then seats can be designated according to height with the smallest in front and the tallest in back!! 
Yeah, that's fair enough!!! Everyone gets to see!!! Lemme tell ya there is nothing worse than being in the second row and having a wall of freaking Amazons in front of ya!!!! LOL so chris, you and kerry gonna be at the show this year!!! j/k Oh and let me just say before y'all start beating up on me.... Take it easy!! I am only 95% serious bout the seating arrangements!!! 
While I have your attention ... I would also like to say that in addition to assigned seats.... I would also like to have the monthly music files back!!! Hmmm. Guess this will conclude my latest rant!!  Life Sexy u all life Sexy u all | |
