FREE CONCERT IN ROME? ...In un articolo pubblicato oggi, mercoledì 20 ottobre, dal quotidiano Il Messaggero, Paolo Zaccagnini rivela quali potrebbero essere i grandi eventi musicali che interesseranno Roma nel prossimo futuro.
Il primo grande concerto previsto nella capitale potrebbe essere quello di Prince. Il musicista di Minneapolis dovrebbe esibirsi gratuitamente al Circo Massimo pochi giorni prima degli MTV European Music Awards del 18 novembre... (from Rockol.it) ... an italian newspaper talks about the future big concerts in Rome and writes that probably Prince will play a free concert at the Circo Massimo (one of the most important ancient Roman place) few days before the MTV Europe Music Award 2004 (November, 18th). So, now... yesterday night I happened to see Mtv's News Flash and they said Prince has been contacted to participate at the EMA's events but still he hasn't confirmed. They specified the artists participating are only the ones listed on their site. *********************************

I also saw the Messaggero article. It would be great! But still seems unconfirmed. Prince should play in Rome - it's a great city.

thought you may like to know that Prince has been CONFIRMED to play in a free concert at the Colosseum in Roma, Italy, next 18th of november as one of the celebrations for the awards which will take place in another part of the city the same night so if you want to see him in his only European concert for this year you just have to buy plane tickets. great news, aren't they? | |

ok guys, enough of this. i LIVE in rome and have lived here for a year and a half. i have heard many a rumor also from the italians on the validity of prince playing in rome. one rumor is that prince is ONLY playing the colosseum for the MTV european music awards and that will be chaos in the streets (obviously not IN the colloseum), but IS FREE and could in NO WAY NOT be as it is just in the surrounding streets that they block off by the colosseum. I have also heard that he will be playing a private show at circo massimo (circus maximus, the arena where they held the ancient chariot races) which would also be for free, as there is no way of charging in a place like this, its like a huge park. No italian can yet tell me WHICH he will be doing or even if he will be here to play for the european music video awards. I wish i knew, but i am totally IN ROME and i STILL have no idea whats going on!  | |
