Favourite Musicology Tour concert or moment mine was the first Las Vegas show. DMSR was possibly the funkiest thing i have ever had the pleasure of listening to. also just seeing Prince so up close; it was unreal.
the second night where he did the acoustic part and he was on a roll and soooo funny. "Strawberry Barrett! c'mere Prince! Kiss my wife!"

i don't mean to keep bragging about it, but it's just the kind of thing that ya gotta brag about...it just doesn't get much better than prince feeding you pizza in the middle of a show...then throwing a damn blanket over your head when you drop the pie!

Being seated at the section of the stage where Prince was rolled in the black box and where Prince spent most of his time was the best memory possible. John Blackwell was about fifteen feet from my seat and I could feel the drums throughout my body. Of course, I couldn't hear a darn thing anybody around said. "The fanbase I have now, they're so sophisticated, they almost expect me to do the unexpected." -Prince

Musically, it was the two guitar workouts in Houston (during either "DMSR" or "Controversy", I forget which). The first night he showed everyone how rock guitar is supposed to be played, then the second night he played the funkiest guitar I've ever heard.
But all-time favorite moments had to be when my daughter was onstage.

Getting engaged during the first Seattle show.
Runner-up would be the second Seattle show, taken as a whole. We has front-row seats; we were given some gifts by a crew member (drum equipment and a page of the planned setlist from the previous night); Melissa was asked to dance on stage during "D.M.S.R.," and Prince shook hands with us after the show. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |
