Should I go to the afterparty in NYC?

hmm I'm contemplating on whether I should actually go to the damn thing or not. Looks like I won't be able to make tomorrow night's actual show at The Garden. sad I'll try to get tix, but there's no guaranteee of it. So at this point I can't really say that I'll be there.

However, I'm thinking about going to the after party at B.B. King's. It's at a reasonable price ($25), and some are saying that Prince and his crew may or may not show up. But I am wondering if it is worth going if I won't know whether Prince will be there or not.

On a side note, I'll be back at B.B. King's on Friday to see Bow Wow Wow. woot!

maybe you should go...

At the least you will feel the excitement of everyone
coming off of 3 AMAZING shows & you can do some
late night shake ass on the flo...
(or just laugh at me) lol

At the most you will see Prince & the NPG
TEAR UP bb king's with a surprise late night jam!!
guitar headbang omg drool
I know he most likely won't play, but if he does
than it would be your big chance to catch him
since you are not seeing the MSG shows.

..now wadda think NWF...
Should you go? hmmm

This is how I thought about it:
1- the Prince shows have KICKED MY ASS!
2- I feel lucky to be in nyc
3- I feel lucky that the ticket is reasonable
4- Prince & I both have the next day off
5- It is PRINCE
and most importantly:
6- If Prince DOES end up playing a
surprise show...
and I ended up not going.....
disbelief

I got jerked last night. Prince was at the club in a corner with some people while everyone in attendance was waiting around for him to perform. The DJ didn't even play any Prince music. It was a big waste of time and money.

Ditto for Wednesday night's After Party. At least Sheila was nice enough to let everyone see her. Chance mingled a bit. I cant for the life of me understand why this was even put together, let alone announced by NPGMC.$25 to stand around for four hours and drink overpriced drinks? I think I'm getting too old for this crap.

Well, the NPGMC website clearly said that he would NOT perform. They said it was an "afterparty," not an "aftershow." Afterparty in my book means- I get to stand around in a club while Prince is in the V.I.P. section of that club, and he might occasionally wave at the crowd. I'm not interested in that kind of thing, and would never pay good money for it. Why were you surprised that it went down that way? Did you feel that the advertisments were misleading? Did you hear that something else was going to happen? (I am being serious here, not trying to throw any digs at you or anything).

My friend bought the tickets, so I didn't see what was advertised. But even though the ticket says "After party", they should have given the fans more than they did. I mean, we really got nothing for $25, and everyone there was expecting something.

The NPG website said he was not SCHEDULED to perform, and as anyone who has followed the man for awhile knows- Prince is nothing if not whimsical. Ticketmaster also touted that "Information can change at anytime".

I wouldn't say I was surprised it went down that way- I was just hoping it wouldn't. Seeing as how a Dallas afterparty turned into a show, and it was his last night of the tour in a city where he has a HUGE fanbase, I went and hoped for the best.

i wasn't the only one who was hoping for it either- I can say with almost 100% certainty that everyone else was there only becauze they thought he might play. You gambled by not going, I gambled by going- and you came out on top.

Next time sonething is announced I'm checking with you.

I told him that that whole Minneapolis Funk empire created some of the best music I ever heard. Wow!!!!! love It was sooo cool seeing all these great people. big grin
