What To Wear

I'm going to Shelia E's concert this Saturday for the opening of her father's jazz club. I've never been to a jazz club. I don't know what to wear. Can someone give me some advise on
what to wear?

I go to jazz clubs quite frequently. Don't stress about it, as I've seen all styles and levels of dress. I don't know if you're a guy or a girl. Just be sure to dress nice, and if you're a girl, not slutty. It's not a dance club. Treat like it's a nice restaurant.

when one goes to a jazz club, one should dress jazzy.

A sophisticated look would be nice; maybe classic black with colorful accessories to add a little pizazz. Or you could go funky and mix things up a bit - like boot-cut jeans paired with a vintage t-shirt, tweed blazer, velvet hat and heels. Or simply go naked sporting nothing but a raspberry beret.

I'm in the same boat. His Houston show is the Sat. after next and I haven't decided what I'm wearing. My ticket says to wear purple and I'm thinking something with a rock+reggae theme. Anyone have some suggestions??

Gosh, I hope I don't look foolish, rather I should say "WE" look foolish
My sister and I decided to go retro groupie look.
I never dressed or acted like this when I was younger so this is my rebel yell as a 30 something married with kids.
We are dressing alike, (dumb right?) and wearing purple denim jeans, purple t-shirts that I had made with retro prince 1999 poster and under the pic I have "class in session... Musicology 2004"
Both of our husbands think we have lost our minds. LOL
but do ya think we will look dumb?
My sis has never been to a P concert so she is excited and wanted to look like a real "groupie".

The "Musicology" quote is creative, in fact you could probably put those on the market. I'd be your 1st customer.

Why not go all the way and top your look with an 80's punkrock hairdo? If you dyed your hair purple, shaved the sides and wore it spiked, you might be called on stage... headbang

biggrin
Just got back from the concert. It was OFF THE HOOK of course...
but what I wanted to say here was about my T-SHIRT.

I did buy an official T-shirt but I must say my homemade bootleg got at least a dozen compliments, about 6 people asked me which booth was selling my t-shirt, 3 people wanted me to make one like mine and at least a dozen other people who looked, smiled and nodded approval.

YES!!!
Now I need the number for his T-shirt organizer (Mani??) to let him/her know, THIS IS WHAT THE FANS WANT!
A nice pic of Prince, in PURPLE and something that ties in Musicology.
The only T-shirt that had pics of Prince on them were in red and black. The purple ones only had writing, no pics. WTF???
