Sometimes you are disappointed. Other times, you get something that you never expected. It's always a bit weird to meet someone from here. I'm finding that it's easier to meet people you've spoken to a little bit before, but not had huge conversations with. For example, I like to think I've met a good number of orgers, and the ones I got along with best - and love the most! - are those I never really knew in the first place.
I mean, like, where is the sun?

it's like meeting a long lost relative that you know all about but haven't seen. 'Kinda like those Jenny Jones/Montel Williams/Maury Povich shows where folx meet-up with their mom's that gave them up for adoption when they were little.

Well I did meet the Viking Vixen. She was awesome! woot! wink

You can't always judge a book by the cover presented here on the org. I have met people that are goofballs here on the org who turned out to have the biggest hearts. I have met total braniacs who turn out to be incredibly humorous. One orger I met really illustrated how important it is to check your judgement at the door. This person and I had words before. Not viscious mean words, but we stood in opposite corners on political/social issues. She was apprehensive at first and I gave her the same treatment I would give any of my friends. I chose not to judge her based on her opposing words and I'm glad I didn't. I got to know one of the most vivacious, fun, loving, sensitive, bright girl with the most infectious personality.

Give it a try nod

I have never been disappointed. It's fun to meet the people behind the screen name. As far as losing something? I think if you had high expectations and then discovered someone to be an ass in person it would lose something, but that's never happened to me.

*whew!*

i've me a number of people from the org in 'real life' and have never had a bad time. In fact, a number of very strong friendships have come from meeting people from here. I highly recommend it
