Non-believers check out this site. It'll convert ya. Very interesting site! I've looked through all of the May and June submissions, and am now going through the rest of the gallery. There are some absolutely fascinating photos there, although I have yet to see one that can't be explained by light refraction, dust motes, shadowing, anti-dithering, or fakery. The people who run Ghoststudy.com are experienced pro's who take everything in2 consideration during examination on the pictures before displaying them on their gallery. If they come accross a fake (and they get sent rather alot so ive heard) and they decide to put it on their gallery to show how good fakes can be, they always label it appropriately so U know its not real. While we're talking about ghost photos, "orbs" are nothing more than out of focus dust particles in the air bouncing back the light of your flash. Likewise, those streaks of white light that show up in pictures are often pieces of lint or hair that are close to the lens, out of focus, and bouncing back the cameras flash. Sometimes it's even the camera strap itself.
If you have a digital camera, give this a try. Grab a bottle of talcum powder, hold it in front of your camera. Take a picture of the room you're in with the flash on. Right before you press the shutter button, squeeze some talcum powder into the air. You'll probabbly end up with a whole room full of "orbs". | |
