Chinese food...favorite kind. I've really gotten into Chinese food in the last year and never liked it when I was a kid. Now I'm crazy about it and I almost always get the same thing. Almond boneless chicken with white rice and wonton soup and/or a vegertrain egg roll (not a shrimp fan). And I know that it so isn't good for me so I try not get it very often. At the most once a week!
So I'm wondering what others here ususally get when they get Chinese food. What's your favorites. Also, do you have a go to place? I had one but something happened. Something I saw on the floor so now I got a new go to place but it is kind of out of the way. And are there some places that you think just plain suck. Got a few of those too! Let's talk Chinese food.

Love Chinese food, although it is so difficult to find items without beef or chicken stock. It exists... but it is so limited at times.
Lettuce Wraps at PFChang's are incredibly tasty, well actually... mouthwatering.

Ex-Moderator | I get Vietnamese food from a local place called Lotus-a-go-go at least once a month. I usually get veggie lo mein or spicy tofu & broccoli and veggie egg rolls. It's not the same as Chinese, but it's close!
PS- I'm not a veggie, but when I eat Asian food I am. Wierd, I know. |

This is a smaller, mainly take-out place with a few tables in the same little strip mall corner as (what we Minneapolitans like to call) Gay SA (as in super america). So named because of it's location in Loring Park, long considered a gay positive neighborhood. It's on LaSalle and, um, that street that goes to the park. Spruce place maybe? I just know where it is, I forget the name of that little street. 14th St? It's just a few blocks from my house. And it's super yummy! |

I always get it as take out and my usual order (see above) costs $11 and is easily 2 meals (one right away, one the next night. it's a lot of food) so really it's $5.50 for a yummy, mostly healthy meal. |

I usually go for eggplant in garlic sauce or spicy veggies & tofu, but there was a place by my apartment when i lived in williamsburg (brooklyn) that made THE MOST AMAZING general tso-style fried eggplant nuggets drowned in hot chinese BBQ sauce and served over rice.
my arteries clog just thinking about it, but i don't even care.

There used to be one down Grand Ave here in St. Paul, but they closed it down a couple months back and just now replaced it with a Chipotle. It sucks too, because of all the Chinese restraunts down Grand, it was the best. I gotta stop by the Minneapolis one and get some sweet and sour chicken sometime soon. It sounds like it's pretty close to where I go to school. ~ I'D BUY THAT FOR A DOLLAR ~

It's soooo strange, but Chinese food is different every where you go...esp here in Holland...somethings kinda taste the same...(different name, of course) but most things are just so incredibly different...
In the states....I loved "Sweet and Sour Shrimp" and " General Tso Chicken" But it's just not the same here....
