My daughter had a "PERFECT" school year!

Not 2 sound all self-absorbed, but U wouldn't know if I didn't tell ya's...nana

I'm heading to my 6 yr old's honors assembly in a couple of hours...

Her school gives out quarterly honors for *ACADEMICS (Only A's or B's),
*CITIZENSHIP (Must get only an OUTSTANDING), and *ATTENDANCE (only perfect).
A child can get 1, but if they get all 3, they get a GOLD STAR PIN! star

I'm here to tell ya....she was THE ONLY ONE in the school to get all 4 GOLD STAR PINS! cool
star star star star

And, to top that off, she reached her INDEPENDENT READER goal and became an
ACCELERATED READER also (she's a good reader, cause those ain't easy).

Just wanted to get my Congrats, pats on the back, noogies, atta boys, and whatever
else this place can give me...lol

Thanks U guys...

We're all going out for dinner...probably Olive Garden, 'cause that's
her favorite (she's a spaghetti fiend).

Yep, she ROCKED it at the assembly.

congratulations! do you do anything special during the school year to help encourage her to study? my girl is only two, but i'm already thinking about help with homework, etc. almost dreading it, actually.

but she definitely deserves a hug at least, and most likely ice cream as well! thumbs up!

Thanks...we helped her with her reading, it's important to get a good start to fundamental
reading skills. Reading is the foundation...no one can DO everything there is to
do in this world, but everyone can read about it. Thankfully, her school has
implemented a GREAT read to achieve program. I would advise to just encourage, encourage,
encourage...don't take negative tones when you're helping, because they sense even the
slightest ones. Positivity...YES.

thanks! will do! i read to her all the time, in english and spanish. she loves having books read to her already. she gets to pick out a different one each night. and sometimes i can just "see" her mind working out little problems. i can't wait til she's old enough to tell me what they are! looking forward to all (or most) of it!

I was just going through my daughters stuff from school. This is her word wall words that the kids are supposed to learn by the end of the year. Her first week of school, the teacher said the words and the kids were supposed to write how they thought you should spell the words.
Notice #3 and #4.

lol

(Her last one, that they did before school let out for the year... she did know how to properly spell them... lol)
