Can I sign up for some prayers? This really really sucks. I just found out today from my mom that she has diabetes, and she also found out there's a problem with her heart where one of the valves is sticking. If medication doesn't work, they're going to have to do open heart surgery. I know people can go on for years with diabetes as long as they take care of themselves, but the heart thing worries me. I already lost my dad to cancer five years ago, and I don't want to lose my mom, too. So, any prayers would help a bunch.  NCC2012... your local Trekkie. =/\=

My grandfather had open heart surgery this year, quadruple bypass. I was a wreck, I talked to him while he was in the hospital and bawled my eyes out as soon as we hung up.
He made it through swimmingly. Just a word of consolation, it's not as uncommon as you may think. If she has to have it (and I hope she doesn't), it's become pretty routine. God bless. | |

my brother had quituple ( that's 5) bypass surgery over 4 years ago and he is still going a little weak, he's 62 now but still going. He is also a diabetic. It was the diabetes that damaged his heart. So it's a good thing they are doing surgery quickly. Have faith hun...she'll be ok. she really needs to take her medication consistently.

My Mum told me she has a high blood pressure this week and she has to take medication every day. It hasn't really sunk in until I read this. I hope she's OK NCC2012. | |
