oooh purty purty. one of my roadblocks to starting a running routine is that i think all running shoes are ugly. those are kind of ugly too, in that running-shoe-ugly kind of way, but not as ugly as what i usually see out there.

Well, I'm at work right now. I can't really get up off my ass or jam very much at the moment. Though if you know of any desk exercises, that would be great. I fear I am getting the dreaded secretary spread.

I fear I am getting the dreaded secretary spread. I actually run* while at work. Tonight I did the treadmill because it was about to storm outside. *Ok so I walk more than I run, but I try to do 2 miles every night. You should sit there and clench your gluteus maximus very tightly.

I have relatively big, flat feet. The Brooks Beast is a great running shoe for feet like mine.

Nikes always look so ugly, though...and then there's that whole sweatshop thing. After reading "No Logo" there's no way I could give Nike a penny of my money. I'm sure whatever shoes I buy, though, I'm supporting some form of hideous third-world labor nightmare somewhere...

aisics...the best. ANd they are resonably priced. Nike is way too expensive and give me the same support if not less.
you can run in chuck taylors if you want shin splints, knee injuries, ankle inguries. How did folks do it before athletic tecnology?

How did folks do it before athletic tecnology? maybe i DO want shin splints, hmm? ok, kidding. though if POOK were my personal trainer, i bet i'd be ordered to wear chucks. i like the plain K-Swiss...if they're available in black, i'd like 'em even more. i don't need any of that air-pump gel-support pimped-out stuff, that's all just tacky to me. i just want something simple that won't turn my feet into hamburger. thanks for all the suggestions, i'll keep 'em in mind this weekend!
