I will admit, Friends has been goin down hill for the last few years. This year has been especially painful. But when I watch the brilliant seasons 4-6, I remember how truly great this show could be at times. I'm gonna miss it...

"Friends" used to be my favourite sitcom. When it was good, it was really good

but then it got worse...and worse and I haven´t really checked the show for a long time

There are still many old episodes worth watching again

The last two seasons have been so-so. You even say they "used to be really witty". With some of the lines, I get the feeling the good writers were at the beach or one of the Friends had last minute input. To everyone's credit, the characters kept growing -- it's the rationale for the show that became even less believable as they aged. They are pulling the plug at a decent time, though. I don't think three more years of Ross/Joey n Rachel willthey? would be good

As a comedy with longevity, I think Frasier will look better than Friends. Friends doesn't fare as well when viewed repeatedly.. at least that's what my friend who watches reruns of Friends says.

well, I own seasons 1-5 on DVD now and have watched them all the way through. They've totally made me laugh and reminded me of my most favorite episodes which I then watch a few more times. To me, these early seasons have stood the test of time VERY well. Of course, I doubt I'll say the same about these last 2 seasons. I really wish the show would've ended last year. But, whatevs, the end is near

They started re-running the first season here in Holland.

And the cast is just extraordinary. It will take some time before they are going to make something THAT good.
