It always depends, nothing is ever a spot on judgement.

I think too much.

I think too much too.... how to stop thinking? wink

It depends on the state of the glass before it got to the middle point. As it stands, it is going in the opposite direction from where it was. If it was full, it is now half empty. If it was empty, it is now half full.

To play it safe we can say it's mid-way full, but who wants to play it safe?

Also, I believe there are degrees of full, and that full and empty do not have to be absolutes, so to speak. That is why our gas tank has a gauge that tells you how full it is, be it 3/4 of a tank or 1/4 of a tank.

Great explanations, guys! biggrin

Half full.....because POSITIVITY & OPTIMISM should be encouraged. There's enough pain & suffering in this world to say 'half empty' all the time, but we should try and rise above all that. But I know some days we think, "I'm just NOT having any of it! Half empty...it's all over!"

....hang on, we are talking about that age old saying "Glass half full or half empty", right?

Empty and full are absolute states, such as dead and pregnant. So, something can't be half-full or half-empty.

But, I'm an optimist, to answer the spirit of the question. (Romans 8:28)

Actually, this is quite correct. Being a bit of a stickler for language, the very definition of these is absolute. So, its either halfway to filled, or halfway to empty!

I'm a halfway to filled guy myself.

Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)
