You have a mother, a wife, a daughter, perhaps a sister (I don't remember) that you love. And for that reason, you don't need an excuse to post something like this, nor do you need to defend it.

Brett, thank you for your kind words. You knew I was having a hard time last night, I shared that with you, how so many threads seemed to make fun of women and/or stereotype them.

And then what I didn't share with you at that time which was also playing into my frustration last night, was that I'd just spent some of my day consoling and counseling a woman whose boyfriend (and father of her baby) left her in the hospital after she'd just delivered their baby, and he took her car without her permission. He had the apartment keys, too, and her landlord was out of town, so she couldn't even go home after she had the baby or get the things (clothes, diapers, carseat) she'd bought for her daughter. She left the hospital against medical advice, still bleeding and hurt from childbirth, to go find him and the keys. She had to stay at her mom's house, and he didn't return for about a week. She tried to report the car stolen so the police would find him, but they told her that since she'd let him drive it before and because he was her boyfriend, there was nothing they could do. Then they told her maybe he left because of the pressure of being a new dad.....
