I love reading these things about other people!

As for me...

1. I played pitcher, catcher, third base and second base through my career as a softball player which ended in 8th grade when I decided I hated sports.

2. I loved the New Kids On the Block when they were around and I was about 12 or 13. I was still following them at the same time I was listening to the Cure, Love & Rockets, Depeche Mode, etc.

3. My first kiss wasn't till I was 17. No awkward pecks behind the library, no playing doctor, none of that. I was very innocent.

4. I took third place in a "club kid" contest when I was 20. I wore a dress made of silver garbage bags and duct tape, had long blond and platinum dred extensions in a ponytail with a battery pack hinding behind it to power several tiny lights in my hair. My prize was a T shirt for Moonshine Music and a Gift Certificate to a Glam/Goth/Club clothes kinda store which I used to get my belly button pierced.

5. Despite being known for having a huge group of friends (our Xmas parties of "just really close friends and NO ONE else can be invited" have topped out at at least 40 people), I'm often very uncomfortable meeting new people unless it's under the perfect circumstances. I'm a bit of a party girl who hates going to parties.

I can't drive a manual car, well maybe if u were near death and needed to get to hospital I could try or kill u trying!!!

I love lying in bed listening to the rain heart

Arr well to be honest my cooking skills are less than desirable shhh

I believe we are destined to meet the people we do, whether the experience is good or bad there is always something gained.

2. I had my first orgasm when I was about 8-9 yrs old.

3. I was in a physically and emotionally abusive relationship from age 18-24 (this is 'surprising' because most people view me as the last woman in the world who would put up with such a thing)

4. I basically flunked out of my freshman year of college. nod

5. I studied Latin in high school and French in high school and college, and have lived in 2 countries other than the US.

1. My dad was 1/2 Irish, 1/4 Black and 1/4 Cherokee; often passed for white; and was 60 years old when I was born. (My mom was 29.) I'm named after him, and for the longest time we assumed our name was an old Irish one given to him by his grandmother, who was born in the Old Country. I've most recently discovered, however, that it's an old Dutch surname. confuse (Fhunkin, Gooey, can you confirm this?!?!?)

1. I'm clinically Bipolar II. Not a particularly dynamic case, but I have been medicated and hospitalized once for it.

3. Since I was in grade school, my interest in theology/esoterica has gotten me alternately pegged as Catholic, Christian protestant, a Gnostic, an agnostic, an atheist, a pagan of various sorts, a Rastafarian, Muslim, a Santero, Yoruban, etc. The funniest, though, have been Jewish and "Satanist" (though most people misused the term). lol They're all incorrect. I haven't held a religious or actively nonreligious affiliation since high school. I do love to vibe, though, with just about anyone who has God on the mind -- and because I'm maybe somewhat more broadly versed than many in related matters, I speak several faith-based "languages," often screwing up people's radars (always inadvertently.) I've learned to clarify upfront, after having been invited as a guest minister at two churches, neither of whose denomination I belong to, much less having the authority to take the pulpit!

4. In mixed company (like the Org), I refer to my past marriage and my "ex-" wife. Using that language with anyone except those who intimately know me saves time explaining, philosophizing and recounting history. In fact, while I'm proudly gay and out, I'm still legally married, a committed partner to my wife and I remain present in the same home with her and our daughter. omfg It's very unconventional and sometimes tough (we've had to deal with many challenges), but we love one-another, and we greatly value family and commitment.

5. Though I'm on the tail end of one advanced degree and about to pursue two more in a dual program, I've read only about four entire books in my life (except comics, children's books and publications I get paid to edit)...
* Things Fall Apart, by Chinua Achebe.
* Talking at the Gates (a James Baldwin autobiography), by James Campbell.
* The Da Vinci Code, by Dan Brown.
* Some book about a skinny white dude, an apple tree and some Martians lol
I LOVE to read. I have a pretty extensive library, and in undergrad I'd sometimes cut multiple days of class or call off work to hang out in the library from 8 a.m. to midnight. But I almost never have the commitment and patience to sit and read an entire book from cover to cover. I envy those who do.

I must admit I have blamed my shoes before when I've not felt like doing it. And to be fair, it's been a while since I've done it so I'd probably have to practice in private beforehand. But yeah, you do need the right shoes to make it convincing. wink

1) I'm the most romantic person I know and am constantly amazed that more aren't (life's too short). It's a wonder that people even get together but I guess that's why there's alcohol.

2) Music is all that is on my mind when I'm not thinking about sex. Beats, harmonies, bass lines, it just doesn't matter.

3) I feel alone in a crowd of people, kind of like an Alien just visiting the planet.

4) Complete strangers open-up to me and tell me really personal stuff. This happens everywhere i go and my friends can only laugh now because it's pretty fucking weird.

5) Morals and being a good person are more than just really important to me. They are the way I try to conduct my life each day (again, life's too short).

Ok 5 more from me, my first 5 were weak

1. I spent my first two weeks of life in the hospital. I was too small and sickly to take home right away.

2. I used to do a lot of theater. I performed in the longest running passion play in the world for 4 years. We received many death threats when we were the first passion play in the country to feature an African American actor in the role of Jesus.

3. I'd been stabbed and had a gun pulled on me before I was 16 years old.

4. The first time I gave anyone head I was forced to do it, surprisingly I was able to get over that and I enjoy pleasing someone I love that way as long as they don't touch my head while I'm at work. biggrin

5. I wanted to be a flight attendant, but my parents strong-armed me into going to college. I have a BA in special education and Psychology. I want to go back to school and get my masters in Psych, but I sometimes dream about ditching it all in favor of the friendly skies. jet
Ok I'm lame sorry.... I tried boxed
