I agree. Most of the folks on the show look better before they go out and get the surgery! Truly sad, utterly pathetic.

I can understand the girl who wanted to look like Kate Winslet. She lost 170 pounds and because of that her skin sagged and her breasts were lopsided.

But the girl who wanted to look like Pamela Anderson..... She was already so cute. Unbelievably cute! And she wasn't happy with her looks until she blew up her boobs and her lips. You're right. It is sad.....

I saw a bit of this show at my mom's place last night, and I was thoroughly disgusted.

If I believed in censorship, I'd want this off the air, STAT.

I agree with what everyone said about this show... has anyone watched "The Swan" yet? We caught part of it last night. Where people go on the show and get fixed up with plastic surgery and dieting... then they go up against a "competitor" who had similiar things done and whoever looks the best goes on to have a spot in the final beauty pagent. Or, something like that.

There have been four "cast members" on this reality show so far. Here are some other shows they were cast on. It appears that most of the "cast" were on other reality shows prior to coming on this one. I wonder how often that happens and WHY they chose these people, instead of, say, the average Joe who hasn't appeared on another reality show. Are these people doing it for the prizes? Is it how they make their living or get free things, etc or is this their way of trying to become a celebrity... in any case, I found it odd.

She requires constant and repeated validation by men that she looks "hot" and is desirable.

I wonder if she spends as much time and effort (and money!) on making her BRAIN and SOUL more attractive and desirable. lol She really is a sad case, and seems to be a very empty and uninteresting person, with nothing more to her than the external.

Aging is going to be EXTREMELY TRAUMATIC for this woman because losing your looks as you grow older is (almost) an inevitability and she's got nothing else going for her once those looks are gone and she's cast aside for the younger women.

I saw a segment about this show on ET once. They had these twins who got surgery to look like Brad Pitt, and they creeped the fuck outta me.

WHY do people do shit like this to themselves? and do it on fuckin television, no less...

I think we also need a confidence make-over show to balance it all out.

If I was a surgeon I'd have sent that Pam wannabe out of the consultation in record time and those twins as well. They didn't need surgery. I think with new hair cuts and some acne medicine they'd have been cute and looked like young Beatles.
I've seen the Swan. I'm dissapointed in the fact that it (like Extreme Makeover) doesn't show much of the actual SURGERY. They show the lipo thingy sucking out fat and they show fake boobs being stuck up the patient. Then they show the patient whinning "Ohh...the agony" I thought for sure Fox would let us SEE the operations. My opinion is if you're going to watch a surgery show it should actually SHOW the surgery.

All these bastards need psychological help I can understand wanting to improve yourself but the whole celebrity thing is beyond twisted, fanatical & bizarre!

That said, how much would it cost me to look like Mani so I can trade places w/ dat ho??

These people definately need psychological help but what's to be expected when the standard of beauty in this country is so high. Look around on the Org. I wrongly assumed Prince fans were as a whole, pretty cool folks but a couple of threads posted in the Concerts forum and in the Prince forum really make me shake my head.

I don't like the show.

This show needs to be taken off the air. It's a bad show and none of these people REALLY look ike their idols. They need to get a grip on reality.
