IMHO, jam and jelly are two different things. Jam is goopier, and often chunkier. Jelly is more like fruity Jello. . .fruit juice with gelatin/pectin/whatever in it. Ya know, since you asked.

Jam contains more fruit than Jelly, the two are different.
