My oldest son is 8 years old.... to think little boys his age were planning something like this.....

Got a call from my 13 year old neice 3 days ago.... she called after not talking hearing from her for the past 6 months to tell me..." Hi Uncle Ken..... just wanted to tell you I just had a baby.....!"

What the fuck is going on around here... babies having babies, babies killing babies..... I am so depressed..... neutral

I'm a little more disturbed about the freak in Fresno who had children with own his daughters and then shot nine of his children when the authorities threatened to rescue them.

that shit was sickening, too....but not nearly as sad and sickening as this. they were gonna kill that poor girl all because of some teasing? hell, i remember when teasing was settled by either somebody tattling, or folks started throwin sand at each other or somethin like that.

th' hell's the world come to?

i dunno how you grew up/were raised, but when i was growin up my father mostly dealt with me when it came to me actin up. he didn't spank me or beat me or anything like that, but he's the cat who mostly disciplined me. it's not sexism, it's how things were. my mom dealt with me as well when i was younger--my folks were 50/50 in all that--but most of the time i had to deal with my father whenever i decided to show my ass. it became moreso when my mom passed away.

also, a lotta folks in my family didn't have father figures in their lives while they were growin up--now most of 'em are either locked up, have been locked up numerous times or god-knows-what. believe it or don't--yes, you need both your folks in your life, but you do need your father in a major way. it ain't sexist in the least.

no, its not sexist.. what i object to is the assumption that these children's fathers weren't part of their lives...

but that could just be my take on your comments at the moment..i just had to endure a two hour parent/teacher meeting and am currently writing a nasty letter to the superattendent, school principle, two california senators, john kerry and president bush..

in short....."leave no kid behind" is a sham..its forcing parents to sign off on their rights to education if children fall below standards....my nephew is a product of a neglecting father yet now that we as a family (and me as a man) and stepping in to take measures, we had to deal with a horrible school vice principle who threw threats at us for an hour..this after i had already agreed to pay for sylvan learning center (which aint cheap) *and* counseling to deal with my boys anger issues...

so dont make the assumption that these kids didnt have a father.....they just might have, and still ended up fucked in the head.. wink

im ranting..must get back to writing letter....

dayum! sad and you're right on, this whole 'no child left behind' b.s. is a sham--there were a couple instances where a couple schools here in minnesota were gonna lose some sorta funding because a thimbleful of kids didn't take some sorta mandatory standardized test--it was like 3 kids who missed takin it, outta hundreds or so....disbelief

nod

its crazy..the school's administrators are busy trying to raise money..and lets not kid ourselves, thats there roles now that when three kids are emotional disturbed such as these three, the adults dont have the time to notice...

our school systems are pathetic...and im seriously taking this as far as I can....i am going to get on any and every soapbox I can and explain the absurdity of our presidents education goals....they want my nephew, David, out of their school system just so they can keep funding...schools are now freaken fundraisers...and our children freaken jerry's kids...

its damn sad!!

I've got a son in the 3rd grade! mad shake

My worst nightmare is something happening to my kids
because of an act of stupidity on behave of some kids
who didn't get no home training! IT'S NOT THE KIDS' FAULT,
but their lazy-ass, would rather drug n smoke n drink instead
of taking an active role in my childs life, parents.

mad
Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I don't want to get into a pissing contest or play "...what's the worst?" game but I have to say nine dead children by their father's hand is much more sickening than one attempted murder by a trio of children.

these children don't come from nowhere. we're living in america, a country that wallows in violence and sex for entertainment, and condones 'pre-emptive' military strikes. children are learning from us. from society.
imo american culture is very, very sick
