Be Ever Wonderful--Earth Wind and Fire.
Later the hub was allowed to play "She's no lady, she's my wife" --dunno who sang that, but its funny as hell.

Sounds like mine. We did have a reception afterwards, but the ceremony itself was secular and very simple, how we wanted it. Anyway, the first dance was "Beautiful in My Eyes" by Joshua Kadison. It was a serious compromise. I really wanted "Pink Cashmere," but my wife (now ex-wife) hated Prince's falsetto, which he uses for most of the song. For awhile we thought we'd use "In Your Eyes" by Peter Gabriel, but we realized that it has a rhumba beat and would be a bit complicated for dancing. I still cannot believe you agreed to that song. Tragic. No music at my "wedding" that I recall. Wasn't much of a wedding. Marriage is goofy, there are better reasons to throw a big party.

got married in 98, my husband walked down the aisle to a loungy latin number from the Lost Highway soundtrack (his mum gave him away). Needless to say the whole thing was hilarious, he even wore white.
prior to the big day we spent many nights putting together all our favorite songs onto DAT, we clocked up over 7 hours or music!!! if only they had iPods back then. people liked the music so much the DATs have featured at a couple of our friends weddings too.

Our official wedding song was; "Con Los Años Que Me Quedan" from Gloria Estefan's Mi Tierra album. It translates as "With the years that I have left"...however - in our fancy-shmancy wedding album, they couldn't do the ñ so when my spanish-speaking family reads it, it translates as; "with the anus that I have left".
You may have heard the English version in the supermarket or in the elevator - it's titled; "If We Were Lovers" for whatever reason. My unofficial wedding song was "Kiss Of Life" by Sade because we chose it for the video guy to narrate the wedding video with it. Every time I hear it I think of my wedding. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

You shouldn't have had to pay full price for those. My wife is a huge Gloria Estefan fan, so I know the song well...as a matter of fact, I just made her another CD of her favorite songs today, and the Gloria song that I chose to put on there was Desde La Oscuridad, the spanish version of Coming Out Of The Dark. Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.
