Ladies, ladies. I won't be married for quite a few years. I have plenty of time for dating. "You need people like me so you can point your fuckin' fingers and say, "That's the bad guy." "

See, I don't see how that can't be a relationship. To me, a perfect partner is someone who compliments my life, not someone who reroutes it. And vice versa. I'm not looking to "own" anyone, or have control over their time or how they live. When did letting someone do their thing turn into such a bad thing? Isn't individuality what attracts us to people in the first place?

I guess she wanted to "own" me and control my time as you put it, and that's just not gonna happen, cause I'm quite happy with the way my life is set up. and there it is

Yes, it is. I don't know why that is. I rarely meet boys I'm interested in dating. But then, I'm not too worried about it either. I know I don't want children and getting married has never really been a goal of mine. If it happens, it happens, but if not, c'est la vie. I receive love from so many people in my life, I don't feel a desperate need to have a boyfriend. I think part of it is that so many of my generation and the one that follows has watched their parents go through horrible divorces or stay together "for the kids" when they'd be better off apart and our standards are just higher. We'd rather be alone than with the wrong person (at least I hope we do). [This message was edited Tue Mar 2 19:07:25 2004 by CarrieMpls] Hmmm. Some interesting thoughts about what seperates us from the previous generation. I think another difference between us and our parents is that we are more selfish and more demanding. I think we want more for less, which makes most of us unsuitable partner material! I guess she wanted a "relationship" and I just wanted to hang out, talk, fuck and what not and then get on with the rest of my life. The "relationship" part sucks for me cause there'll be all these expectations, restraints and.... well, ya'll know the drill. So I'd rather just fuck around - preferably with the same girl - but if that's not possible I guess that's just the way it is That's selfish, sweetie. But.....very manish. We women are always warned about that. Love, companionship, but with no accountability or responsibility. I was the female on that end and I'm very bitter abou tit. Maybe because two years later, I could have been somewhere else doing something else dealing with someone else who could handle it....I'm not bitter though ; ) We seal our fate with the decisions we make; ) You can't hate the man without hating the human being, you can't hate the human being without blaming the heart... Is there any place of refuge one can flee from this insanity

Some people are just lucky, and I do mean lucky - they find true love early on & have no clue how slim shit really is out there. If you have something real, hold onto it folks Dating blows...
And don't belittle your single friends either! . [This message was edited Fri Apr 16 0:21:11 2004 by CalhounSq]
