GROCERY SHOPPING ON AN EMPTY STOMACH!

What a huge mistake I made. I went grocery shopping while totally hungry, I bought so much food, much of which were sweets, cakes and junk. Anyone here ever make this mistake?

That's always a hard one with me, I try not to go when i'm hungry but if I go when I'm not, nothing looks appealing and then I buy too little. big grin

i've done that thing where i go hungry and buy a lot of weird stuff. nod but, if i go grocery shopping when i've just eaten like she said nothing looks good.

i want a dial-up food service. like, punch in a selection and a day later or later that day they deliver it to your house. that sounds nice, instead of having to dodge shopping carts at the store, endure screaming children (bless 'em) while standing in line being forced to listen to the grovery store's cheesy music. generally it's the music that gets to me the most

hmm
after i posted, above, i saw the matching google ad for 'grocery delivery, same day service'
i'm beginning to feel like the google GOD has merged forces with the ORG gods and together they are beneficently sending us signs, omens or portents if you will.

I just did this, but managed not to buy too much crap (I did cave in to a pint of Ben and Jerry's, though redface).. I just bought something to tide me over for the immediate hunger (late lunch) and I'll probably do take out tonight.....

You're sooooo right, XxAxX, it's often the shopping experience that makes grocery-getting and meal prep seem so unbearable. sad

i think it is. otherwise i love food, but the burden of having to go out and (metaphotically) hunt, gather, carry home, cook, and serve the daily potato can be off-putting. sometimes i cheat and just make power shakes. or even buy them in the little cans

What I'm about to say is even more pathetic, lol, but I think it's the only-cooking-for-myself thing that makes it feel more like a chore than something to enjoy. When I know I'm cooking for more than myself, I get excited and put tons of effort into making everything great.
