SUGGESTIONS.... Although this is a Prince-site, most posts deal with other stuff usually from the orgers personal lives and views. It's those threads that usually generate the conflicts so how about moving them? As on the HQ site where you get all the prince-stuff first, and should you want to wander off into the blah blah blah section, you can, without having those topics in your face on page 1.
When people start to get pissed of and start taking it personal, they can start a thread in the "arena"-forum where they can poor buckets off shit all over eachother untill they get it out of their system. that way, threads don't get polluted by endless crap that has nothing to do with the topic at hand. I suggest we make a fixed one out of "CBORGMAN VS AARON". Or mail yourself silly if you don't want it all out in public. Just as in real life, people have a need to vent and rant. Often the views portrayed in those rants have not much to do with the persons real view, but more with their state of mind at that moment. In the org such a thing is hardly allowed so they moved to another spot. I find that a great idea. Just as you would rant about one friend to another due to whatever circumstance, they did it too in their litle circle; avoiding that every orger would be upset; orgers of which they know wouldn't be able to take their humour, views or whatever you call it. You can't have a site made 3/4th out of pseudo-psycho-analysis and not have clashes. The only common thing we all have is a liking of prince's music and that is not much of a base for a homoganous community. I suggest the sites owners make a decision in what they want; but if they like the org and the way they handle it; they should respect the side-effects. The site wouldn't exist if it weren't for the org. For all I care, everyone stays. The HQ-er formerly known as krokostimpy.

The Org would become utterly dull if the only option here was to discuss Prince and his music. It would definitely loose its appeal as a fan community, the implication of fan community being that it is a community were fans can get to know each other through interaction. You don't really get to know anyone just by talking music alone, but by discussing all kinds of things and goofing around. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

I agree, but the focus seems to have shifted from what was the essential purpose of the site to it's intresting by-product. If you start banning people from a site - not because they diss prince but because they clash with people on other subjects that are not really part of the site's core-business, you're bound to get some sort of feedback. That's why I think these personals should stay, but instead of putting all that personal stuff upfront and moderating people (objectively or not); give al these topics and possible reactions, rants etc it's own place. Now the whole site was up because some people who were no longer welcome,do their own thing. Was it vile? Racist? rude? either way... it eventually happened outside the org by people who were hardly welcome, or just felt they couldn't do certain stuff here. Dissaprove if you like but it's their right. The org's opinions are nothing less or more then that; rules and opinions limited to the bounderies of a website. It wasn't a good idea to put it on an accessible website because it gave acces to the darker rants and opinions of people, and they are hardly ever diplomatic and usually hurtfull to others. People go on and on about certain over the top opinions about this or that person. But as over the top they might seem; the reason for existence and the purpose of the site does not offend me. You cannot expect banned people to go sobbing in a corner and behave for the rest of their lives. They will do their own thing... as you noticed. The HQ-er formerly known as krokostimpy.

Nor does it offend me, but then, we weren't trash-talked on their site. I think they are welcome to their site and if that's their idea of a good time, then... Wow! But I prefer an Org where conversation is adult and considerate. I like to be able to disagree with someone and not being called an idiot or otherwise offended for having a different opinion. I am all for free speech, but free speech CAN be exercised in a civilized manner. And if people can not behave civilized, how many places in society will accept them? The org is a reflection of society. Just because you can hide your face - even your identity - behind a computer screen does not excuse uncivilized behaviour. If Prince.org where to allow rude and uncivilized behaviour, certainly I would want no part of it. Name-calling is just so... primitive and the world really would be a better place if people would strive to be a bit more sophisticated. If a forum is created that encourages rudeness, then that is catering to man's basest instincts, rather than encouraging him to strive to be the best that he can be.
