To be honest, I'm not very good at picking books, which is why I really hoped someone else would. The last few I've bought have really not been interesting so I tend to revert back to the classics.

So, if anyone has a book they'd like us all to read, or one that they've read and feel will provide us with something to talk about, please go ahead and pick ...

Oh yeah, due to the fact that Ulysses and Joyce both SUCK MY ASS, I now nominate Harry Potter's Chamber of Secrets or whatever the fuck it's called!

Does having my signature around make you currently sad?

Please no shake

I bought an anthology of Dutch literature a few weeks ago
and already it has prompted me to buy more than 20 books
online

smile

I've read 3 up until now. Always thought all Dutch books
were at least 70% pure shit, but some of these pickings
are simply amazing. I never thought we had writers as
good as that.

"De Komst van Joachim Stiller" is my fav by far out of
the ones I ordered.

So imagine what would happen from reading world literature
anthologies. I'd have to mortgage my...ehm...well.

Okay, not elevated reading, but a thrill nonetheless;

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown, a popular, simple In The Name Of The Rose.

I thought the way of writing the book was rather original indeed.

But the drama, the portrayal of heaven did not move me.
Nor did the end.

May I recommend 'Carter Beats The Devil' to the book club? Its by Glen David Gold, husband of Alice Sebold. I've got it but not read it yet so Im wondering if anybody would care to join me?

I nominate that we do an Alex Garland book sometime. "The Tesseract" was great.

[also I haven't read "The Lovely Bones" or "The DaVinci Code", but they sound interesting. Harry Potter might be fun wink ]
