mass emails to "groups" in outlook

i emailed a group (under 200 people)from outlook express a couple of days ago...and still people have not recieved the mail. so i split the group in two and resent...but no luck yet.
its worked before and usually takes a few hours for the emails to be received..should i be patient or has something gone wrong.

There's a freeware program out there called Worldcast that you should try out. I use it at work, and it's great for sending out mass emails.

http://www.fairlogic.com/worldcast/

There are also several freeware apps out there that will scan you email and let you know if it could possibly be flagged as spam. You may want to run it through one of those in advance before sending it out.

AsylumUtopia

Is the email still in your outbox or has is disappeared from there? If the email is still in the process of being sent it should still be in there.

Is the email just text or does it have any embedded or attached images/files/etc ?
I've just asked around and apparently with large emails (whether going to a single address or a group of addresses) they sometimes just get stuck in the outbox. This is apparently a known 'feature' with LookOut!
The solution is to go into the outbox, double click on the email, and then click on 'send' again. It should then go through.

Hope this is of some help to you. lol

If not, I would seriously consider Tom's advice and check out some alternative email software. My own advice is to NEVER use LookOut if you can possibly avoid it.

Well, at work I'm forced to use LookOut, at home I use hotmail, which I would recommend. I know people moan about it but I've never had a problem with it, and with their new spam filters I get hardly any spam anymore. Another distinct advantage is that I can tell everyone not to bother sending me anything over 500K as I'll just delete it immediately, on the basis that such large emails will eat up my allocated space too quickly. Of course the real reason is to stop people sending me their latest crappy holiday pictures.

I'm afraid the only other email package I have any experience with is Lotus cc:Mail, and that was some years ago (it's probably even been renamed since I used it). It was far superior to the available version of Lookout at the time, so I'd say if it still exists it's got to be better than the current version(s) of LookOut.

I know it seems a little unfair to recommend not using LookOut and yet not have any similar alternative to recommend (sorry! lol), but, as you have discovered, LookOut loses emails, or doesn't send them, or doesn't collect incoming mail from the mailsweeper; in fact, it seems to just do what it damn well pleases with no rhyme or reason, a bit like all M$ software really.

I would go with Tom's suggestion of Worldcast, at least it's got one recommendation anyway!
