I have been there also, and i felt honored that he could let me see him at his most vulnerable. A man so very rarely cries usually, if he does it in front of you it means somehting very special. That's my honest opinion. | |

I was just making a generalisation that may not fit you. I earnestly believe that women dont really appreciate men crying as much as they say they do. I think some women get frightened when they see a man cry. It's been so ingrained in us that it has to be the end of the world before a guy loses it emotionally, that crying signifies that there's something really fucked up happening. For me, it would depend upon the reason he is crying and how he's crying ("how" sounds weird, but what I mean by that is if he's sobbing or just has a few tears). I don't cry much myself, so I probably wouldn't be able to be too sympathetic to someone--male OR female--who cries a lot over small things. It's important to me that my friends and partners show genuine emotion, though, so I'm not saying they shouldn't express or show sadness. Just saying that some of us see a lot of shit in life, and we have to be strong in order to function, and I need to be strong and I need a strong PARTNER to walk with. I can't always be carrying the both of us, if the shit goes down, ya know?

Yes, I think some women become terrified when a guy loses it emotionally. Christ, if it happens to me I terrify myself! Thats because society has endoctrinated us all with the fact that men, boys etc shouldn't cry and DONT. So when it does happen, folks flip the fuck out, are uncomfortable about it, etc. hence it also makes some submit to some Tough Guise and replace their sadness etc with a more socially acceptable emotion...such as anger, agression etc...which then you have situations such as crime, roberry, gangs etc all because of whats deemed wrong by soeone who said "boys dont cry" etc. then you have the republicans and conservatives etc all maiing harsh laws for those who have ben indocterinated with only showing agression and anger as acceptable instread of th e hurt and pain theyy may actually feel, being caught up in that system (crime, punishment)...
