The film "Adaptation"

I saw this movie this last weekend and absolutely loved it

Nicholas Cage usually gets on my nerves but I thought he was brilliant in this, and so were Meryl Streep and Chris Cooper

The script is wonderful, the work of a genius imo

I have to admit that I was slightly high (redface) when I saw it and it´s been my best movie experience in years!

Anyone has seen this wonderful film, and what did you think of it?

Well, I saw the film. I enjoyed it, but got bored with it by the end. I did think Chris Cooper and Meryl Streep were amazing. The movie was just lacking a certain something. Now that it's on cable, I plan to see it again and see if the "something lacking" was in my mood or actually something in the movie I was displeased with...

I will say...they made Nicholas Cage's hairline SOOO BAD in that movie that I could barely look at him. But I shouldn't dislike a movie based on a hairstyle smile

I was disappointed by this film. It definitely lacked a certain something and by the end of the movie I was all but asleep. Apparently the book is much better and I plan on giving it a read pretty soon but as far as the movie's concerned I could never see it again and be fine.

I love this movie. I relate SO well to Meryl Streep!
In spite of the cost of living, it's still popular.

Just saw this myself and loved it. How hard must it have been for Nick to play both parts?

Must have been hard, but I do think he is a decent actor. I just don't know why he picks most of the scripts he does. Cage either sucks or rocks. There is no in between.

Really? That's so funny because I remember watching the movie and thinking, "What the hell is going on in her head? Girl needs a hobby!"

So considering that you related to her and I totally didn't, what the hell was going on in her head and why didn't she just get a hobby?

It's about need and passion. She never experienced anything like that before, she didn't know what passion felt like. I've been there and I understand the way it blows your mind when you first experience it. shrug
Maybe I read too much into her performance.

I don't think you read too much into her performance, you could just realte to it. Personally, i feel like life is full of passion and I have never felt the void that you mentioned. I think that's why I just thought that she needed a hobby. Apparently she needed more than that. Thank you for explaining it to me.

Cage's quote "You're just an old drug addict" made me laugh out loud.

I understand where you were coming from now Sweeny and I guess passion's something I take for granted. I've always been extremely passionate about everything and everyone in my life.

I just thought it was sad that she needed to snort green powder before she felt passion. Maybe I reading too much into to it but, that missing tooth mutha seemed to play her like a drum by calling her when she was high.

I also thought it was sad that she needed to snort some funky looking cocaine before she felt any passion. Sad and stupid. I mean, she's a grown woman. Oh well.
