Is there anybody that can give me tips about Barcelona (good but cheap, hotels, restaurants, have to go there places?).

Try Els Quatre Gats restaurant, which serves the BEST Catalan food! A Barcelona legend since 1897, the "Four Cats" was a favourite of Picasso, Rusinyol, and other artists who once hung their works on its walls. Picasso even designed the menu cover. The setting is something of an old library with a viewing balcony complete with tables. Excellent "menu del dia" (lunchtime menu) but can be pricey on an evening.

Easyjet, hoe eerder je boekt hoe goedkoper !
En genoeg Gaudi in en rond het centrum, hij wordt commercieel zo geexploiteerd, je kan er bijna niet om heen !!
Voor mezelf is een bezoek aan de kelders van de Sagrada Familia altijd weer een groot succes !! Erg boeiend te zien hoe hij via enorme experimentele ideeen tot zo'n bouwwerk heeft kunnen komen (vaak echt geniaal).
Voor een leuke avond uit adviseer ik je een bezoek te brengen aan de Salvation (vanaf een uurtje of 02.00 !)

Eating

There are number of good quality resteraunts dotted around Barcelona. Although it can be a little pricey the food is of an excellent quality. Aswell as traditional resteraunts there also chain resteraunts aswell for example Pizza Matzanno which is basically just Pizza Express. Tip: Try and avoid eating on Las Ramblas it can be very expensive and U will pay double for Ur bill for what U would get elsewhere.

What to see

There are tour buses which operate around Barcelona that will take U to the various site seeing spots. The Gaudi building and architecture is well worth a visit and it is only a small fee to pay to gain access to the balcony. Aswell as the architecture, the balcony offers a wonderful view of the city.

Also pay a visit to the magnificent Sagrada Familia cathedral. U will have to pay to get inside but it is really worth it. Although there is rather a steep climb to the top! The cathedral is of cause the same one that Prince is pictured posing outside on the cover and inlay of the Come album.

Even if Ur not a football/soccer fan, a trip to the Camp Nou stadium, home of Barcelona Football Club is worth a visit. Its truly magnificent and holds up to about 100,000 spectators on match days (I think). For a fee U can get a tour of the stadium or for a smaller fee U can pay for a look round the stadium and able to access one of the main stands to look onto the pitch.

If Ur done with site seeing there is also a rather good beach at the Olympic Village with nice sand and calm sea.

In the evening, around about sunset we took a cable car which overlooked the city below which was really nice. U can have a beer or something at the top too. A really good place to chill out and watch the sun come down.

There are of cause a number of architecture walks, the Old Gothic city, and museums etc to look out for.

Finally, visit Las Ramblas for the amazing street performers if nothing else. But beware for pick pockets becuz they are rather rife!

Travel

The most easiest and efficient mode of transport we found was the metro. Its fairly easy to use and should get U from A to B.

For a cheap, but good hotel try Roma Reial Hotel - Plaza Real, 11 Barcelona, or any other hotel at the plaza real.

Located in the centre (barrio gotico) near Las Ramblas, this hotel has a great view on the beautiful Plaza Real where artists and musicians perform everyday and where you can have great fun in its funky bars, restaurants and discotheques. hotels have good rooms with reasonable price:
Standard room, 2 Adults one night about 80 Euro.

Blijkbaar spreek je nederlands en gezien mijn mmm eerder beschonken toestand zal dat misschien vlotter gaan:

Barcelona is OK, maar vond het net iets minder dan verwacht. Probeer een plannetje van de metro lijnen vast te krijgen, en doe verder zo veel mogelijk te voet (behalve park guell da's echt wel eindje, sagrade famillia trouwens ook afstandje vooral in de winter zo)

je moet zeker eens naar cinema/uitgaanscomplex gaan ligt zo een beetje in zee en is met brug verbonden, en vandaar uit kan je een ganse laan volgen evenwijdig met de zee, wel leuk.

Leuxte vond ik daar nog strand, maar dat was in zomer, waren snachts geland en op wandelafstand van centrum lag het strand zo vol mensen rond kampvuren, was fancy, maar zal nu wel niet zijn

Ramblas is ok, de markt (in een hal, zijstraatje van Ramblas) was ook erg leuk, en is overdekt wat swinters wel van pas kan komen.

Maar dus voornaamste tip: als je van luchthaven trein neemt naar Barcelona centrum, probeer daar dan metro plannetje vast te krijgen, vergelijk met je stadsplannetje, en je geraakt overal wel

(wel oppassen met trein van luchthaven naar centrum, rijden niet zo heel vaak, en is toch half uurtje als ik mij goedherinner)

OOh ik zie het al, jij bent een buurman uit Belgie. Dan heb ik nix gezegt, dat taaltje is geweldig!

Ik kan misschien dat metroschema en de plattegrond van B wel van iemand krijgen die een week of twee eerder gaat dan ons. Da's een goed idee, want als je alleen een weekend hebt, dan is vooruitplannen wel heel slim.
