Uh... it's a common nickname for "Matthew," the first name my parents gave me when I was born. Please note: effective March 21, 2010, I've stepped down from my prince.org Moderator position. |

sin·is·ter
Suggesting or threatening evil Presaging trouble; ominous Attended by or causing disaster or inauspicious circumstances. On the left side; left. pen·ta·ton·ic Of or using only five tones, usually the first, second, third, fifth, and sixth tones of a diatonic scale. I choose this name because historically in western culture the pentatonic scale was considered evil, it was even banned by the Catholic Church for a period of time. It's is also considered the scale that gave birth to Blues/Rock N' Roll. I find this ironic with it's history, considering the influence Rock music has had on western culture. If you're not a musician and wonder what it sounds like, just listen to a Black Sabbath guitar solo, or any pioneering rock n roll band Led Zeppelin, Hendrix ect. The best place to find it is in it's truest form which is the blues. The Pentatonic scale is said to be Eastern in origin. Another Irony is that some cultures feel that this scale wards off evil. Copied and pasted from Paisley's "MAKING DECISONS" thread. [This message was edited Wed Dec 10 20:26:14 PST 2003 by sinisterpentatonic]

Here we go again. But this time, no long thesis from me.
Lammas: Ancient European pagan holiday on Aug. 1 marking the cusp of summer and autumn. Lammastide: That general time of year Why my name?: Because that time of year has deep sentimental value to me. Ὅσον ζῇς φαίνου

I, myself, never seen it. My true name is Raymond. That nickname stuck with me for years to this day. 17 is my favorite # and "17 days" is one of my favorite songs. Can someone let me know if "South Central" is a worthy movie to rent?

When the Catholic church took over Saxon/Celtic regions of Europe the festival essentially was re-designated as a feast day for that apostle. (The Feast of St. Peter in Chains.) And you think I'm good! Have you looked in the mirror lately?

My handle comes from the fact that my last name is Wolf, plus the fact that I always loved the "Wrecka Stow" part from Under The Cherry Moon. Friends of mine at the time & me all learned real quick that saying "Wrecka Stow" was a cool way 2 find out if anyone in the general vicinity had seen that movie & enjoyed it!
At 1 point we actually got some T-Shirts & painted WRECKA STOW on the front & back of them in huge letters, & we'd wear them around just 2 watch the reactions. It was either people going, "Huh? What the heck's THAT mean?!" or they'd burst out laughing & go, "Hey, COOL! UNDER THE CHERRY MOON! Prince is SO cool! Wasn't that part great?" & of course... if any1 who didn't get it asked what it was, we'd go, "If U wanted 2 buy a Sam Cooke album, where would'ja go?"
