The LaWANDA PAGE/AUNT ESTHER appreciation thread! The late, great LaWanda Page was a comic genius. Among the best. I've been picking up the 'Sanford & Son' DVD's and I cant stop watching them!
Fred and Esther had the best chemestry and timing! I still crack up watching those two go at it. LaWanda had some great old comedy shows on CD...'Mutha Is Half A Word' is my favorite of them all. Back to 'Sanford'...Besides Redd Foxx...LaWanda made that show too..some of my favorite lines... -"WATCH IT SUCKA!!!" -"Grady! If you see Woodro you tell him his behind is grass...and I am the lawnmower!" -"Get thee behind me Satan...cuz I'm gonna get behind you and I gonna put my foot in yo..." Anyone else here a fan?? I just saw a rerun of Sanford & Son last night...her very first appearance on the show I believe.
She was funny as hell...!  By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory! | |
